I'm becoming more willing to call this election for Obama than I was earlier in the week.

(38 posts)Good news abounds today. I wonder if there is any historical data that would show if it is typical for polls to move like this as election day gets nearer. Could it be the positive press from POTUS handling of Sandy?

(4,551 posts)Nate Silver said on Piers Morgan last night that it won't be until Thursday or Friday that we see polls conducted mainly after Sandy.

(38 posts)So, we could expect these numbers to go higher base on the contrast between Romney and the Prresident during this crisis. At least, I hope so.

(4,551 posts)They were conducted on behalf of Health Care for America Now, which means RCP won't include them in its polling averages, and so they won't get reported as normal polls. That can affect the averages for these states and the media narrative.
Not sure why PPP is doing all this polling for Health Care for America Now. Wish they would just do their polls the normal way until after the election.

(5,008 posts)the newspaper endorsement. Even if some people changed their mind based upon what they read, it would be hard to erase 5%. Plus David Axelrod said that by election day 50% of the voters in Iowa will have already voted.

(17,865 posts)They are Democratic pollsters. Not trying to throw cold water on the results, but I don't want to be caught in the same groupthink box as the Republicans. Since the methodology is the same as the earlier PPP polls, it is good to see the Des Moines Register Romney endorsement has not made a difference.
