2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumRepublicans will win on November 6th.
President Obama's reelection will be a win for almost everyone in America, and that includes Republicans.
When the President is reelected, it will mean that most Republicans -- like most Americans -- will benefit from four more years of stable, Democratic economic leadership.
President Obama's reelection will mean that FEMA and the CDC will still be there, keeping all of our families safe --including Republican families. So Republicans win, too.
In Obama's next four years as President, he's not going to mire us into costly, purposeless wars to satisfy ideologues. And that's a win for almost everyone in America, including Republicans.
Yeah, they're going to cry and rant for the next four years, but Obama's reelection is going to mean that virtually everyone in America will be better off than they would have been under the other guy.
So when your Republican friends cry and rant on November 7th, be a gracious winner. Congratulate them. Because they're getting something better than what they thought they wanted.

(320 posts)They'll live under the sane and stable governance of Democrats, but they'll get to fester and stew over the "injustice" of not getting one of their own in the White House. They'll get to delude themselves into thinking that no matter how good an Obama presidency turns out to be, a Republican could've done it better.

(23,867 posts)She has been saying that if we get Obama out then the economy will turn around. I know she doesn't know better. So I keep telling her to expect bright things when he is reelected.
It's strange to be around people who are unintelligent and unconscious. They just can't help themselves. But we can. And we will.
