2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI have a question
In total seriousness. Only for Clinton supporters. Please to all Sanders supporters: please DO NOT shit on my thread or flame bait it.
Allow me this one question, if Clinton is elected president, what will you hold her to task on if elected to office? Where would you draw the line that her actions would be a "compromise" you cannot live with? Even Obama's greatest supporters have honest criticism of his time in office. I have stated that I think PBO will be known as the greatest presidents of all time but I am not so star-struck to think he didn't mess up and came up short in spots.
So, honest question. No flaming, no nasty replies please. I am tired of fighting and I want to get some perspective from supporters here.

(47,179 posts)Obama clearly thinks very highly of her, and she has committed to preserve his legacy and continue his policies with very few exceptions. She does have a different view than Obama on education for one. I do not hear her saying he made mistakes like not compromising on issues.

(8,732 posts)I want what you think and feel. If elected, what are your expectations for her time in office and what is a compromise you are not willing to live with?

(47,179 posts)expect her to compromise with a crazy right wing congress. She uses similar language when talking about Republican controlled congress as Obama in his second term, in other words she has not been touting some magic ability to make deals with them. Rather she paints a picture of some hard intractable disagreements.

(8,732 posts)Just having a little fun with "right direction" part of your comment. Sorry, wasn't trying to be snarky or rude.

(2,760 posts)I don't have a platform from which to criticize her or "hold her accountable." I suppose I could rage against her on the internet and sign numerous change.org petitions, but that's not really my style. I will, of course, have my own opinions on various issues, but I don't know what "withdrawing my support" even means.
Unless, of course, you're talking about supporting a possible primary challenge to her in 4 years. I'm already 99% sure that's going to happen in some form and I highly doubt I would support it.

(8,732 posts)I didn't ask you to criticize her or use the words "hold her accountable".
I also made no mention of a second term.
My humble request was made in good faith. You are free to answer or not answer. I respectfully ask you not to put words in my mouth.
