2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumMSNBC only reporting MN O+3 poll
I was just watching MSNBC and saw the anchor interview a Minnesota politician about the "tightening" race there. It was all premised on that single poll where Obama leads by only 3. Not a single mention of the poll that gave O +8 in MN.
Seriously, this is getting ridiculous. I expect it from CNN, but not MSNBC. This election is making me loathe the entire corporate media. It's so clear now that all of them, even liberal MSNBC, are manipulating this election into being a "horse race" in order to boost ratings and profits.
Corporate media sucks. And I'm a journalism major at my university. I thought journalism was supposed to be about exposing truth, but I guess it's all about money in the end. This election is really making me rethink my future profession.

(1,828 posts)I too was a journalism major once upon a time. It's really depressing to see what's become of the profession - on tv, anyway. My profs would be horrified!

(2,522 posts)R.T. Rybek stated emphatically that this is a bad poll and that the race is nowhere to being close. He laughed and stated that he would love to have money pour into his state but that the national guys know that the polling data was bad. He indicated that Minnesota is solid blue. Calm down, we can make it through this thing together. Love Mom.

(55 posts)While there is a large contingent of racist rubes in MN to vote R, most are too stupid to bother.

(14,177 posts)The GOTV is doing really well here. On my campus people are enthusiastic about voting, some for the first time, many in their 2nd decade of voting are enthusiastic for the first time, even more than in 2008. I dunno what people are talking about when they say low enthusiasm. I really don't know what they are talking about when they say Minnesota is a swing state. It's not, we are blue and getting bluer.
