Per Politico on my phone. The Sanders campaign is releasing field workers in Indiana.
Updated: As pointed out, the layoffs took place in states that already voted. Time to stop reading my phone on the run.

(146,317 posts)back his campaign efforts going forward. Not surprising.
Has he made any statements or appearances today? Maybe he's in meetings again, as he was following New York.
Armstead
(47,803 posts)Said he's going to keep on campaigning, and then he's going to the convention...
If he's not the nominee, he is going to push to have positions on the agenda. can't force Clinton to do anything, but he said he hopes the nominee will look at his positions and the millions of people who support them, and incorporate that into her message message and agenda.

Sanders campaign begins laying off staff

"We're 80 percent of the way through the caucuses and primaries and we make adjustments as we go along. This is a process that weve done before of right-sizing the campaign as we move through the calendar," said Sanders' campaign communications director Michael Briggs.
While Sanders has raised large amounts of money online, and started April with $17 million according to his most recent Federal Election Commission report, he has also spent at a very high rate, including $46 million in March. It is unclear how much money his campaign currently has on hand.
Sanders has had a large field organizing presence all over the country, and Wednesdays cuts are the first significant scaling back of his campaign apparatus now that the majority of states have voted in the primary.
While he insisted to an Indiana crowd on Wednesday that he is still in the race to win it, he has also suggested that he is aiming to influence the Democratic platform if Clinton is the candidate.
Still, Sanders is likely to win a handful of states in May, and he is competing heavily in California and Indiana.

(6,551 posts)Bernie knows he can't win, but a California win would give him some momentum to the convention. At least he hopes.

(145,321 posts)Without the hope (real or imagined) of Sanders becoming the nominee, it appears that Sanders small dollar donors are drying up. Sanders has been spending money at an incredible rate outspending Clinton two to one in most states and still losing. You can not keep up that burn rate unless the small dollar contributions keep rolling in
