Do math with Venn Diagram. I don't have raw numbers but if you look at all variables. very few votes to change hand

-No of people in IOWA who subscribe to DMR
-No of people who read the news paper after buying it
-No of people who read the editorial section
-No of independents who have not voted yet
-No of people who are independent and undecided (very small) who read the editorial section
-No of undecided who will be influenced after reading the DMR editorial (negligible)


Media pundits like narrative but are too lazy to do actual analysis

Not sure about the primaries but They endorsed Obama in the 08 general election and before that their last winner was Clinton. The newspaper hasnt endorsed a Republican presidential candidate since Nixon until now.
