2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIf Bernie doesn't win the nomination......the American people will miss him.
But then. when they see the horrific negative campaigns that Trump and Hillary wage against each other.
They are going to say....My god, what have we done?

(1,166 posts)Trump wins over Clinton or b) she's been president for a year. Whatever the case, "buyers remorse" is getting to be a sad, sad, and utterly predictable phenomenon is US political life. And the remorse means absolutely nothing after the damage is done. I despair.

(11,257 posts)I've been following his career since the mid 90s. He's always been one of my favorites. At one point, I gave a lot of thought to supporting him in the primaries and gladly would have supported him in the general had he won. Even now, I would vote for him as the nominee, but any enthusiasm I had is long gone.
He turned out to be a sanctimonious jerk and, worse, a massive hypocrite. The crap he pulled at the end about trying to flip superdelegates was despicable.
I'm glad it's over. I'm proud to have voted for the Hillary, the first woman nominee for President, and now I just want Bernie to go away with whatever remaining dignity he has left.

(8,760 posts)Having a system where party elites pile in behind a corporate backed candidate to such a degree that corporate pundits declare the race over before the first vote is cast.....that is admirable?
Bernie has opened my eyes to the reality of how far the Democratic party has fallen.

(14,255 posts)I am a woman, and I could never support - or "be with" or whatever - a warmongering Third Way Wall Street politician.
Ever. Gender is irrelevant. Deeds and issues are the only things that count.
