I don't know why, but this is the second time the CBC has refused to endorse her over a white candidate. I don't know what she's doing that turns them off, but it's definitely a factor.

I've never understood why, but this isn't the first time that Maryland democratic leaders have simply refused to go to bat for her. It's a shame, but it underscores the fact that it's important to get institutional support if you want to win.

but I felt she would lose. Not because she is a bad candidate, it's just that Chris is better known and experienced. I think Donna made her move too soon for the Senate. She was building an excellent record in the House.

He was never in trouble.

As for Donna, she's not going anywhere. She has a bright future still very much ahead of her.

She'll be there

Having said that, I'm very comfortable with Van Hollen. So for me, it's still a win, win situation.

Although they both said they'd support Bernie if he was the nominee, of course.

Yesterday, I saw something posted that had Donna on a Bernie "slate." I don't remember the details. But she did endorse Hillary, too.

I really like Chris Van Hollen. I've already donated and will donate again.

But honestly, even if you liked him, your money would probably be put to better use going to a candidate in a tougher general election race. I don't think he's going to have any trouble in November.

IN THE FINAL DAYS leading up to Maryland’s Democratic voters going to the polls on Tuesday to choose their U.S. Senate nominee, Rep. Donna Edwards has been barraged by ads and mailers from the Super PAC backing her opponent, Rep. Chris Van Hollen, called the Committee for Maryland’s Progress.

A television ad assails Edwards as “one of the least effective members of Congress,” contrasting her career with Van Hollen’s legislative record. It mentions no foreign policy issues, despite the dominant issue motivating one of the Super PAC’s largest funders.

She couldn't even get the support of the "Congressional Black Caucus." Too bad. I think she's a much better choice than Van Hollen.
