(4,711 posts)This is who you chose for the general election. You must have known that this was coming. Don't blame her opponents for mining the rich veins of material that she makes available.

(8,791 posts)Trump can argue that he's simply quoting Sanders. That is why Dems don't call other Dems running for President unqualified. Sanders is an idiot and he's hurt the country with the way hes run his campaign.
Jester Messiah
(4,711 posts)The criticisms coming from Sanders are justified and valid. Don't blame him for pointing out the obvious flaws in his opponent.
woolldog
(8,791 posts)and has been for a long time, yes it hurts the country. This is a zero sum game. Anything that hurts Hillary, helps Trump. And anything that helps Trump, hurts the country.
Jester Messiah
(4,711 posts)Since it gives Trump a viable shot at the presidency.

(146 posts)Unqualified! He knew he went out of bounds and retracted his statement.
Trump can quote all Bernie's vile statement against HRC all he want but that doesn't make it true.
4 million American voters so far thinks she's more than qualified!!

(22,340 posts)that she would be a better president than any Republican they could put up against her?
Because he said that, too. But keep piling on Sanders like every bad thing Clinton did is his fault.

(5,272 posts)because republicans might use the line of attack? Is that really what you're saying, because from my perspective, our candidates should just be better, so that we could hammer Republicans on their quid pro quos, but since our side does the same shit, neither side ever touches the third rail of campaign finance in a serious, directed way. Trump is the only wildcard on that side of the aisle that would bring this up, and its still ridiculous for him to do so because he has absolutely been involved in buying politicians from the industry side. Its not going to win him the election anyway, but how are we ever going to be better if we're just supposed to be playing a team sport where our side is always right so long as we don't look too closely.

NuclearDem
(16,184 posts)Quoted Sanders during his press conference.

(8,760 posts)and Hillary would not refute it when asked.
That is what happens when you play dirty, Hillary......what comes around goes around.
NuclearDem
(16,184 posts)The Washington Post wrote the headline using that word.
Because Bernie Sanders doesn't do his homework, he didn't read any further than that and made an ass of himself.
virtualobserver
(8,760 posts)then when Hillary was asked the next day about what her communication director said....she wouldn't say that he was qualified....then she listed what she considered to be Bernie's many shortcomings.
Did she disavow what her communication director had said? No she didn't...She reinforced it with criticisms of Bernie.
This is the way that an evasive politician communicates. The headline correctly expressed her sentiment, it wasn't quoting her.
So, she deserves what she gets.

Jim Lane
(11,175 posts)Well, not just her words, but her dramatic TV commercial painting Obama as too inexperienced and/or immature to handle a foreign crisis.
From "McCain ad returns to Clinton's 3 a.m. phone call":
The McCain ad debuted Tuesday, just hours before Clinton was to address the Democratic National Convention in Denver. While she was expected to repeat her post-primary support for Obama's candidacy in an effort to bring her supporters to his side, McCain's campaign didn't want voters to forget that she had once considered McCain to be more experienced.
Opening with a scene lifted from Clinton's old ad, the McCain spot then switches to scenes of war, missiles and hooded gunmen as an announcer says: "Uncertainty. Dangerous aggression. Rogue nations. Radicalism." Clinton herself is shown saying: "I know Sen. McCain has a lifetime of experience that he will bring to the White House. And Sen. Obama has a speech he gave in 2002."
One difference, of course, is that Bernie merely made one comment. Naturally it was reported, but AFAIK Bernie hasn't spent millions of dollars blasting it at voters.

(468 posts)....is the height of naivete.
They have a 25 year dossier on her. As a Bernie supporter, I recognize that that dossier is fluff, bullshit, and a coordinated strategy - a right wing smear campaign, nothing more. But I have strong policy differences with Hillary all on my own. There is no reason to go into "el shock-o dismay-o" mode over attacks on Hillary by the GOP. That's just absurd.

(1,947 posts)she is tough and has been vetted. We know she is no longer for keystone , she's been vetted. And we know she is no longer for private prisons, she has been vetted, and we know she is no longer for TPP, she has been vetted. And we know she is for more war and regime change in the middle east her history and vetting showed us that. And we know she is anxious to lurch to the right, due to vetting we know her allegiance is with the 1% . She makes me lack pride in a once great party. Enjoy. I will get to tell you " I told you so" soon enough.
