Get Out The Vote, 2012

In view of nationwide Republican attempts to keep voters from the polls, and of Republican attacks on women, unions, the gay community, immigrants, etc., Dems and liberal indies need a HUGE get out the vote campaign, including registration and official ID creation.

Do you know of anything in the works?

I've already got one giant sign in mind: If you don't want the 1% or American Taliban choosing the next Supreme Court Justice, VOTE!

5. Agree on visibility, big time. Yet suggest we push a big picture alternative, not a rebuttal.

The Republicans are digging their own narrow trench. I think we ought to let them go for it. At some point they'll realize they can't climb out of the political pit they've dug for themselves.

As a simple soundbite, sign or such, I suggest something along the lines of an FDR era statement

Opportunity, Equality, Fair Play - American Values, Democratic Values

or some such. ~pinto

I had suggested to a local D candidate that as part of the get out the vote, that we manage some how to get those without transportation to the DL office or whatever official agency to get that photo ID and of course trans port home again and to Registration . In NC one could do that at least I don't think the teapots in Raleigh have managed that yet and of course van pool to the polls come election day.

Dems have always provided transportation to the polls, but this year people will need to be driven to get that ID in plenty of time to vote. And registration will be more difficult too, with some states not even letting the League of Women Voters take registration forms around anymore.
