Washington Post Poll of Virginia Obama 51% Romney 47%

(Ihis is great news! and should give pause to the MSM which wants to write the state off to Romney):

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/decision2012/2012/10/27/6ce69246-2057-11e2-9cd5-b55c38388962_story.html

President Obama is clinging to a slender, four-point lead over Republican Mitt Romney in Virginia, as both sides ramp up already aggressive campaigns in the crucial battleground state, according to a new Washington Post poll.

Obama outpolled Romney, 51 to 47 percent, among likely Virginia voters, although he lost the clearer 52-to-44 percent advantage he held in mid-September

Unlike in national polls, Obama still has an edge when Virginia voters are asked who better understands their financial problems, and he has not fallen behind a surging Romney on the question of who would better handle the national economy. Nor has Obama lost significant ground among self-identified independents in Virginia, as he has nationally.

The numbers reflect the intensity of the two campaigns in Virginia. Obama has attended 19 political events in the state this year, including a rally in Richmond last week and another planned for Monday in Prince William County. Romney has attended 20 political events in the state since winning the Republican nomination, and he would have attended a 21st Sunday had it not been canceled in advance of Hurricane Sandy.

Virginia, like Ohio and Florida, is particularly critical for Romney, whose path to the White House would be difficult without the state’s electoral votes.

Both candidates see a path to victory in Virginia.

Obama is counting heavily on his advantages among African American, Latino and female voters, and on his support in Washington’s inner suburbs and the urban centers of Richmond and Hampton Roads.

Tens of thousands of women in that state, in DC, in PA, even in TN and NC, are working on electing Obama with their volunteer efforts, calls, door to door canvassing.

VA is very much in contention this year, and very winnable, if we can get women and liberal men, and people of color out to vote.

There's an effort underway there, you may read about it in years to come, down to the getting women out to vote by driving them to the polls.

Then, of course, we have Rachel Maddow, and Governor Vagina probe/now reformed to mere ultrasound. This, itself, gets out 40,000 votes for Obama in 2012.

Contrary to the most recent national numbers, in Virginia, Obama has an advantage on enthusiasm: 70 percent of his backers are “very enthusiastic” about his candidacy in the new poll, compared with 56 percent of those who back Romney.

And Obama sweeps all the battlegrounds: PA-WI-NV-OH-IA-NH-VA-CO-FL-NC (in approximate order of probability).

AZ might turn.

VA would be particularly interesting to hear from a full ballot poll or at least the top four: "Who are you voting for, Mitt Romney, Gary Johnson, Barack Obama or Virgil Goode?"

Anyway, remember this is one poll, and the average on Huffington Pollster is lower, less than one percent I think. But I'm optimistic. I believe that they still have a pretty good ground game here.

a tie or a "slender" lead. The MSM is idiotic and I normally don't let every little MSM thing piss me off. Because I already know many in the MSM are idiotic to begin with. But I have had enough of this crap. I do have appreciation of the good ones though, like Rachel, Ezra, Chris Hayes, Melissa Harris Perry, Eugene Robinson. There are more I do like. But the hacks, they burn me.

I usually ignore the hacks because I know they are not real reporters. They are conventional wisdom types that helped legitimize W Bush in 2000.
They hated Gore and thought Bush was warm and funny. Meanwhile, Gore would have been an incredible President. They did the same to Kerry. It is harder to do to Obama since he is so personable and Mittens is so awkward. This is the only way they have to rise Mitt up.
I don't know why the hacks do it. Are they bored with a race where one person is a clear winner? Possibly. They are lazy and don't do very good, hard hitting, factual reporting. Many are like Erin Burnett and do false equivalency crap. I wouldn't mind Burnett as she seems likable and we are the same age so I find her relatable. But her journalism is so shallow. Many in the MSM are like that.
