“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil..." - 1 Timothy 6:10
As certain right wing corporate evangelists endorse Mitt Romney along with support from millionaires and billionaires, it worth noting the degree to which they ignore the Bible, which has over 300 verses regarding poverty such as:
“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows” (I Timothy 6:10).
Conversely, I have found only one possible reference to abortion, which appears to distinguish between killing a person versus paying a simple fine:
If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman's husband demands and the court allows." (Exodus 21:22)
Yet, many modern day evangelical Christians obsess on abortion and side with the rich against the poor.
