Wow, well, who could have seen THAT coming?
http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/277392-clinton-we-cant-ignore-the-second-amendment
I know how important gun ownership and particularly hunting is here in northeastern Pennsylvania, the former Secretary of State said.

(12,689 posts)But Clinton said the United States cant ignore gun violence.
I want you to know that we cant ignore the Second Amendment and we cant ignore the 33,000 people a year who die from gun violence, she said. And I think we are smart enough to figure out how to do that.

(80,708 posts)Merely saying "we are smart enough to figure out an answer" isnt enough- it sounds like her "solution" on encryption- you know, breaking strong encryption with a backdoor that isnt a strong encryption-breaking backdoor.

(39,909 posts)How does she keep track of who she is from day to day,
and what will the parents of the children killed at Sandy Hook think about Hillary NOW?
This pivot was fast enough to give a normal person whiplash,
but won't even be noticed in a certain group.
Before I could ever consider voting for her, I would need some reassurance about WHICH Hillary we would be getting as President.
There so many different Hillarys, even one with a Southern Accent (though it sounds pretty phony).

Hey, you don't suppose she has been cloned, each programmed with different "beliefs", and her handlers just bring out whichever one they believe will appeal the particular location the best?

(1,235 posts)Remember how Sanders was all for increasing the violent gun culture?
But surely Hillary clearly explained to them how she still supports repealing that bill that protects them from being held responsible if when they follow all the proper precautions and legally sell one of their guns, and someone then uses it to commit a crime, that the victims can then come back and sue you, the person who followed all the rules in selling a legal product, into bankruptcy ... right? She did explain that to them right? I mean, she did stick to at least one of her principles, right?

(17,656 posts)So, she could politicize yet another Sandy Hook.

(683 posts)She was in North eastern PA. She mentioned Sandy Hook and the victims. She also stated her position on sensible gun laws like universal background checks. Said most gun owners support that. I didn't hear any major pivot.
Gwhittey
(1,377 posts)She was very anti-gun. For whole time she was talking about how bad Sanders was for not supporting suing gun manufacturers over making guns that are legal. No wonder people support her you can not figure anything out logically. If you in one state try and slam your opponent about how you support one most obvious attempts to ban guns and then in another say you are only for sensible gun laws then you pivoted. The suing over Sandy Hook only by so party hack can be even remotely thought of as sensible gun laws.
LyndaG
(683 posts)If she had a major pivot and pandered to gun owners, I would've noticed and it would've bothered me. I didn't hear anything like that. She mentioned the daughter of the Principal of Sandy Hook, how brave her Mom was to attempt to stop the gunman. She mentioned other victims of gun violence.

(10,650 posts)It's political natural selection. How can anyone be against you when you can be both for and against anything at any time as needed? Hillary survives!
She's as phony as a three dollar bill, but she's got a legion of adulators who will rationalize or ignore anything she does.
