Actual NYT headline: Hillary Clinton Warns Voters About Donald Trump’s Evolving Image

States that voters should judge him by his prior comments and actions, rather than what he's saying now to win votes.

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. — If Donald J. Trump starts to soften his image, Hillary Clinton has a warning for voters.

Don’t believe it.

“Trump,” she said at a rally here on Saturday, “keeps saying things like, ‘Well, you know, uh, I didn’t really mean it. It was all part of my reality TV show.’”

“Well, you know what?” she added. “If we buy that, shame on us. Because he’s already showed us what he believes and he’s already said what he wants to do, and he wants to go after every one of the rights we have.”...

Wow. Just, wow. Pot, kettle and all that. Don't believe it, and, "shame on us", indeed.

If that isn't a strawman then it most certainly is deflection of the most egregious kind. Do you even remember what the OP headline is? Here's a refresher for you:
Actual NYT headline: Hillary Clinton Warns Voters About Donald Trump’s Evolving Image

Funny, I don't see Sanders in that headline at all. Oh, my, guess what? He's not mentioned in the body of that OP either. I wonder why and how his name got brought up? Oh yeah, deflection from the hypocrisy of your own chosen candidate.

And actually, you thinking Cornell West is worse than Kissinger is extremely relevant. It shows you don't know what you are talking about and that there's not much point discussing things with you since you don't have the facts to have a good political barometer for comparing and contrasting various politicians.

So go learn who Kissinger is. Your idol respects him and I think might have even said something about him being a mentor, though that might not be correct. But she pals around with him and considers him a friend. It's something that's important to know about someone.

It's also important to know that mass murder of innocent people is quite a lot worse than calling a public figure a name in your criticism of their policies. If you honestly don't think that is true there's no point in anyone discussing anything with you as you have shown that you have no moral compass what so ever and will defend anything at all if you think it's a defense of Hillary.

And if you are going to make statements about people you have admitted knowing pretty much nothing about then again, there's no point taking anything you say seriously and you have shown yourself to be willing to post about things of which you admit to being ignorant.

But I bet your socks are comfy and that's really all that matters, isn't it?

you think that Cornell West criticizing Obama is worse than Kissinger's mass murder of innocent lives.

And Sanders has no such immoral ties to any industry. You know very well he has a D- from the NRA. We all know who you are. Why you get a pass is beyond me because you just bring this site down to tabloid levels.

Not that it matters much any more. It already has nowhere near the level of intelligent posts and people it had when BushCo was in office. After that the cheerleading squads arrived and most insightful analysis and critical thought was met by immature retorts and smileys.

It does bother me that some liberals seem to believe that the rhetoric that Trump spews is some kind of 'proof' that he is a real populist - or more Democratic or more liberal than our candidates - while discounting any rhetoric coming from our own candidates as insincere 'mere rhetoric'.

Political rhetoric is just that and always has been.

Shame on whomever fell for either schtick.
