(68,586 posts)everyone knows about Monica. The Bernie bots are now holding Corsi swift boater in high regard...I long for the day when this primary is called and this crap is over...maybe next week...Bernie is going to lose big.

(3,226 posts)If she gets the nomination Hillary will be hit with a lot more damaging stuff than this. Bernie has been one of the kindest candidates to run against. The GOP will use every thing including the FBI investigation, money laundering though a family foundation, Bill's past affaires they will blame the problems in the Middle East on her blowing it as a SOS ........she has gotten a free pass so far the biggest thing that Bernie has hit her with is her Wallstreet speeches and you can bet Trumps friends have copies that will be released.
salinsky
(1,065 posts)... and she's still standing.
Meanwhile, the candidate you're supporting is unvetted.
The question you should be asking yourself is, why are you doing the freeper's dirty work?
awake
(3,226 posts)But you can bet you sweet ass that come this fall if Hillary is our candidate it will be all over the place. It is just amazing how people refuse to look at the real problems Hillary possess for our party. I am not doing "freeper's dirty work" I and many on this site are saying before it is too late look at the down side if we go with another Clinton. Why do you think the media has given her a free ride till now, do you really believe that they support her?

(6,282 posts)She appears to be talking about Brock's troll army set out to bully Sanders supporters into submission. Monica Lewinsky has found a new focus in life, discussing bullying, so it is natural to source her. I see no problem, as long as they stick to the issues and this campaign, not dreck from the 1990s that nobody wants to talk about anymore.
I wonder if there are any on DU?

Who else has been a political football for a decade or more?
I'll wait.
YouDig
(2,280 posts)and the people bringing it up in this campaign know that. It's not a coincidence.
riderinthestorm
(23,272 posts)Or she became famous and then spoke out about her abuse and bullying?
There is a difference.
Its shameful to denigrate Monica Lewinsky for finally finding her voice. Even as its at an inconvenient time for this campaign, she deserves praise, not more shaming.
YouDig
(2,280 posts)anti-bullying, among other things. And she's known for it, much more than Monica Lewinsky. And she's not the only one. If you had to pick one recognizable anti-bullying advocate, Monica Lewinsky would be way down the list.
It's great that Monica Lewinsky has found her voice, but everyone knows why the Bernie campaign is floating her name, and it's not because of her anti-bullying advocacy. And by the way, she didn't get famous for being bullied, it was for something else.
riderinthestorm
(23,272 posts)Almost 5 million views and she's spearheaded a mass movement on bullying.
Monica Lewinsky has become the voice for bullying. Get out of the Clinton bubble for a moment. ..
YouDig
(2,280 posts)If you really think that Bernie's people are tossing out Lewinsky's name because of anti-bullying, you are kidding yourself.
riderinthestorm
(23,272 posts)And the day you show me a 20+ minute Lady Gaga speech devoted entirely to the subject of bullying that's garnered 5 million views, then I'll concede Lady Gaga as the greater public authority on this topic...
Please note Monica Lewinsky actually got her masters in psychology and social media bullying from the London School of Economics.
This is her life's work now.
YouDig
(2,280 posts)So does everyone else. It's not pretty.

(53,787 posts)but they're classier than that. Referencing Lewinsky, the one who stored the spermed-stained blue dress for ulterior motives, is low class, and pretending that it's about her anti-bullying work is so phony.
Sanders' surrogates seem to be doing more harm than good.

But for you own information you should research it as I'm not overestimating it at all.
It would have been a huge weapon for the repugs as you seem to think only millennials who vote the least of all age groups, and know the least about the cold war era are the only ones who would be influenced by revelations of Sanders' past extreme, near-communist socialism you know, "means of production should be owned by the people" pronouncements that kind of socialism, not the democratic socialist posture he has now assumed.

(5,240 posts)Why, I'll bet the RNC wont even remember it. That is until Rosario Dawson reminded us.
Actually her name was brought up as an example of someone bullied by the Clintons.
Spacedog1973
(221 posts)How could they not. They remember their efforts as a failure and a mistake they learned from. An 'automatic win' turned into an epic failure that bit them and increased Bill's popularity.
What they learned was to no be so direct and that whilst the public were amused, they were completely unimpressed by them using it as a political weapon. It will be more so with a trump should he try, as he would not be using the issue to suggest perjury, but a childish and titillating morsel for the sake of it.
It will backfire badly and if Bernie runs with this, his campaign is dead in the water even more than it is now.

(23,272 posts)By owning her public shaming and taking it to the people.
She's finally gotten strong enough to come out of the shadows and lead a movement against public bullying.
Shame on you for shitting all over her.
Shame.
Rosario Dawson is simply spotlighting the despicable nature of the Clintons and how they've disposed of Bills inconvenient affairs.
Its not as though the Republicans are going to just have amnesia about this.
Monica Lewinsky re-surfaced last year independent of Hillary's campaign and deserves every last bit of support anyone throws her way.

(2,125 posts)without any mention of the affair, then Hillary needs to look in the mirror. She routinely
demonized Bill's sex partners and stayed mum about his philandering and wanted
their privacy respected. Her hypocritical and sexist behavior towards these women
is a prime example of her lack of character.

Most of the really damaging stuff remains in the archives, unless an astute GOP researcher brings other stuff up.
And, one must not pretend them to be ignorant as they've had years to build their database of points.

This is the last gasp, the death rattle of a dying campaign that has lost relevancy. Outside DU, where Bernie fans keep some grasp on reality, they are embarrassed on your behalf.
