(45,488 posts)Kaine sits on the Armed Forces Committee. I'd rather have a peaceful, thoughtful guy there than all the pompous glad-handlers that normally show up mugging for TV cameras.
* Seen this description 3-4 times on DU recently to describe Democrats.

(45,488 posts)He's against the death penalty and wants to remove the income cap on social security. He's been pushing the GOP to vote on Obama use of the military against ISIS.
He's a former, VA governor, currently in the Senate.
