About that 1994 Crime Bill - It was the Clintons leading the charge.

They added stuff to get enough votes (such as Violence against Women) but they really, really needed that crime bill to appeal to a certain type of voter.

Bernie spoke out about addressing the cause of crime. Funny, how NO ONE has asked what in the heck the Clinton Whitehouse ever did to address those concerns.

Hmmm..... notice a pattern. We ship your jobs overseas - you deal with the fallout. And we send people off to prison and forget about it.... buy hey we need slave prison labor for people like our good buddies at Walmart.

It seems like such a good campaign ad until the last part of it:

Such good liberals want to expand the death penalty...

Here is a law professor explaining it:

In sum, the end result was that Bill Clinton, for political reasons, decided to execute mentally deficient man to show he was tough on crime.

To be fair, he was obviously guilty and killed a cop but he may not have been mentally component to stand trial. And there is anecdotal evidence that after his last meal, Rector asked the guards to save his dessert for him.

But hey, they've given 200,000 felons back their voting rights which shows how much they care.

It cost the sitting speaker of the House his seat, the first time that had happened since 1862. Now Hillary plans on running on the same issues which led to that political defeat.

Democrats in Congress are too stupid to see they are endorsing their own defeat.

Three of the four toss-up states have historically been considered pro-gun states as are the states that lean either Republican or Democratic.

I can guarantee Hillary's currently stated positions on gun control is going to motivate the pro-gun base for the Republicans and since the Democrats won't regain the House this election cycle, no serious gun control laws will make it through Congress, which makes what she is saying mostly hot air.

If history is any guide, one of the first things to go will be any mention of gun control, in the interest of "electoral college realism"

Sanders voted for the bill, sometimes letting sleeping dogs lie a better choice. It brings a lot of negative feelings.
