Bernie's goals.
In his last interview before he was assassinated John Lennon was asked if he was a socialist. He answered "If being a socialist means the government should see to it that granny gets her teeth fixed then I'm a socialist."Well, by that definition I'm a socialist too.
Nobody who is smart enough to go to college should be turned away for lack of ability to pay. Nobody should be denied decent medical care for lack of ability to pay. Big money needs to be removed from politics but it needs to be done right, lest it become an incumbent protection act. Incumbents have franking privileges which allows them to have a more or less permanent campaign. To defeat an incumbent he or she needs to be outspent exponentially.
We need to transition from a fossil fueled economy to a green one.
This is a rich society. These things are not beyond our grasp.
Military force should always be the last tool in the box to be used, after every other tool has been tried and failed.
However we all have different paths to get there.
