It's not just Wall Street banks. An AP review has found that most companies and groups that paid Hillary Clinton to speak between 2013 and 2015 have lobbied federal agencies in recent years, and more than one-third are government contractors. (April 21)

It's not for the pearls of wisdom dropping from her lips; it's the diamonds of access she offers for sale. And with access comes influence. Some like to compare these speeches to, say, a professor of ornithology giving a talk on swan migration to the local Audubon Society chapter in exchange for a box lunch and cab fare. It's just a speech, right? Some folks wanted to hear Hillary talk about the good life in Chappaqua, or what it's like to be Secretary of State, or whatever; that's just the same as a talk on swan migration, right? No biggie; what are you people fussing about? $250K? Pfft, that's what they offered...
