BUSTED: Pro-Clinton Super PAC Caught Spending $1 Million on Social Media Trolls

A Super PAC headed by a longtime Clinton operative is spending $1 million to hire online trolls to “correct” Bernie Sanders’ supporters on social media.

Correct The Record (CTR), which is operated by Clinton attack dog and new owner of Blue Nation Review David Brock, launched a new initiative this week called “Barrier Breakers 2016” for the purpose of debating supporters of Senator Bernie Sanders — or “Bernie Bros,” as they’re referred to in Correct the Record’s press official release — on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and other social media platforms.

The “Barrier Breakers” will also publicly thank Hillary Clinton’s superdelegates and fans for supporting her campaign. The paid trolls are professional communicators, coming from public relations and media backgrounds.

A presidential political campaign is actually using one of their operatives to pay people to troll average citizens on the internet because their candidate can't gain their support on her own. How pathetic and creepy is that! For me that's just one more reason NOT to support this candidate. They've gone after us through the corporate media now they will be targeting us on the internet with their mob of paid trolls? I wonder what they will do to us if she becomes President and we disagree with her?

So he concocts a boogie man, and hires trolls to argue with his boogie man. How surreal. The Clinton campaign is just a Potempkin village, everything faked, and promoted by the media and DNC. Peep are gullible enough to believe it. Reality comes in Nov, when a lot of Dems and Indies won't vote for her.

I think paid pundits should identify themselves if this is going to be an accepted practice here. Most websites frown on spamming and sockpuppetry and this borders on both.

One of the reasons Bernie's big rallies didn't translate into enough votes to WIN New York was due in part to the large numbers of rally attendees shipped in from other states. It may look good but if it doesn't translate into votes then it doesn't matter.

Trump uses casting agencies to fill in his rallies.

I would expect presidential candidates to do the social media troll. But I try to avoid retweeting simply negative stuff about candidates unless it relates to a policy issue. Of course I always read before I click.

The current madness is designed to get people into their feels, usually anger and get them to vote their anger instead of their interests.

Some of the stuff is just plain silly and earns a big side eye from me.

think this is somehow nefarious. We are talking about Democrats trashing Democrats. It's self-destructive and stupid. If people really don't like Bernie or HRC, my suggestion is to IGNORE him or her and focus on getting your preferred candidates message out.

I tweet and retweet positive messages about HRC and President Obama and his team. I mostly ignore Bernie. Why trash him. Why give him any attention. And until we have a nominee, I have to accept the possibility Bernie may be the nominee. I may hate Bernie with the heat from a trillion suns but I would definitely vote for him over any GOP candidate. Hands down. No question about it. I don't have time for the feels. I can't vote my feels. I have to vote my interests.

supporters who believe this crap,I think the majority of them are purposely misconstruing it. The press release literally spells out what they're going to do and there's nothing about "paid trolls". Although this deliberate misunderstanding certainly elevated the number of Bernie supporters running around calling anyone who isn't a Sanders supporter a paid troll. Hmmmm,it's almost as if that's the point.
