Related: About this forumI voted today -- my first presidential vote was for George McGovern in 1972 (RIP)
One hour wait in line at the Jefferson County (WV) Courthouse (where John Brown was tried...) The bailiff told me that there has been a constant line since early voting started on Wednesday.

(823 posts)And I voted this morning in Texas, straight Democratic, as I have always done. There was a steady stream of voters and I was told this precinct has had 750 voters/day. (Early voting began Monday)

(6,252 posts)In the first day of early voting in Kanawha Country (also West Virginia), the turnout in the first two days was 60% higher than 2008! We still have no chance of an Obama win in West Virginia, but I'm hoping that the statewide offices and the state legislature will stay Democratic.
