What the M$M isn't reporting...

Crowd sizes. If you watch M$M coverage of the candidates speeches you may notice something funny - they do everything possible to avoid showing you the crowd. Rarely - we see great shots of our president speaking in front of tens of thousands posted here on DU - but you sure don't see them on the talking heads TV news. I just finished watching Rmoney's "major economic" speech in Iowa. At the end if you watched carefully as they panned across the site - there was no one there. It looked like fewer than 200 people - at a major speech in a swing state ten days before an election?

How much longer will the talking head celebutants keep propping up the fantasy that this is a "horse race?"

Was wet and cold though.

I don't Romney has a prayer in Iowa in spite of nearly everyone in my office being rabid republicans or libertarians (they have joined forces to vote the socialist out - my boss you usually cusses everyting Romney's name is mentioned has joined the chorus).

I am shocked. Anybody got video/stills from the event. If he can't pull a crowd in Ames then I am not sure where he can pull one (surely not Iowa City and probably not Cedar Falls either).

There is a right-wing radio station here my wife listens to. She claims she only listens to the newscast and doesn't listen to Limbaugh or their local Limbaugh wannabes. But listening to the news today, they do that false equivalence bit where they give each side equal time.

For the "Obama 10 seconds" they had a few sentences from a Biden speech. But these were just framework comments. They weren't the point he was leading to. So taken in isolation, it sounded like nothing at all. Then for the "Romney 45 seconds" they of course played his whole pack of lies ("Obama PROMISED us that we'd have economic growth of 79.5732% if we passed his stimulus program and instead we have 'just' 2%.&quot

I know I felt that way in 2008. Obama was ahead in most of the swing state but IIRC most were within the margin of error. When Ohio was called for Obama my son texted me "It's over." I really didn't rest easy until CA was called at 8PM. I was that paranoid.

I hope I can relax a bit after VA is called for Obama.

pics and video of the HUGE CROWDS at Obama rallys? Well, the crowds are still there, but MSM is not reporting OR showing them.

I always find pics, here or on the internet, of huge crowds and post them on my FB page. Other Obama supporters I know will go "Where was that? Was that four years ago? Where did you find that picture?" Because it simply is NOT being reported this year.

It is strange and baffling, but yes, it is a concerted and coordinated effort NOT to report crowd size. It keeps the "horse race" myth going.

1) they don't want to show the huge Obama crowds
2) they don't want to show the pitiful Flip-Flopper "crowds"

Held at our Civic Center (recently renamed The Bay Center). Just looked in our newspaper for today and it said as of Thursday afternoon nearly all of the 11,000 free tickets had been given out and the rest were expected to be given out this a.m. The Center holds 10,000 and they claimed to have given away the extra 1000 tickets because since they were "free" tickets, they assume some people won't show up.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see how many of his base flock downtown to see him. After that he goes on to Kissimmee in the afternoon and Tampa Saturday night. Marco Rubio is going to be appearing with him.

FWIW: This part of Florida runs blood red. Some people say it's really L.A. Lower Alabama. And if you look at the map, Alabama got robbed of some nice waterfront property and sugar sand beaches.

So they know their only road left is to peel off some Republicans who would want two right leaning cable news channels.
