Obama is a LIAR (please add air quotes for those who are freaking out)

I hear this all the time on Facebook and other places. Obama is a liar. All he does is lie, lie, lie.

But when I ask those making such accusations to point out one of his lies, or better yet, give me a list of them, they suddenly get mute.

Now, I can easily give you a list of Romney's lies, although that list would take days to compile and print out. But what, exactly, are these lies that Obama is allegedly telling? These people seem convinced that he's a lying sack of crap, but they can't or won't point to even a single so-called lie.

So are they just pulling this out of their butts, mimicking talk radio, or can they really point to what they perceive as Obama's lies?

So far, I'm not getting anything from them. But I AM curious how they developed this notion (although I suspect I already know).

It seems that nowadays the accusation is all that matters. Backing it up with facts is apparently unimportant.

That you want to make a provocative title so everyone will want to see whats up. The problem is that, like everyone said, these posts spread like wildfire over the internet. Yesterday I wrote a post on Boortz calling Allred a whore. Boortz saw it and posted in on his facebook (he made fun of us in doing so). It got shared 860 times on Facebook and 49 times on twitter. Now, how many of those 860 actually read the entire post? Probably not many, they just saw the title and said "Yeah Boortz, keep pissing off those libs."

So, we have your post that says Obama Lied. How easy would it be for Boortz, Limbaugh, anyone else to but it on their page and say "look, even the Libs dont trust Obummer. See, we were right and they know it." So then we look like idiots.

In my opinion, its better not to tempt fate just to get an eye-popping post title.

They accuse him of lying about:

His birth certificate - Already debunked.
Him being muslim or a muslim sympathizer - Already debunked.
Him being a socialist - He's more conservative than I am.
Him using executive privilege on Fast and Furious - Which was actually initiated during the Bush years, and also already shown to hit more Republicans than Democrats if it is actually completely brought to light.
Him not taking away their guns - Also already shown to be the case.

It is pretty ridiculous, especially since there is so much proof that it was not lies to begin with.

The truth is that President Obama's economic advisers made that prediction before he took office, during the lame-duck session of 2008. Their prediction was based on faulty information they were given by the outgoing bush administration, which was under-reporting the depths of the economic crisis.

The fact is that unemployment stood at 8.1% the day President Obama was inaugurated.

As far as what the *percentage of increase* unemployment would rise to, I think his advisors got it pretty much right. It's just that the base number they were working with (which was supplied by bushco, and which was inaccurate) was lower than what it actually was at the time.

Yet, the RWNM likes to say that unemployment was under 8% when the president took office and that it soared above 8% due to the president's policies, and that he was lying when he said it wouldn't go above 8%.

These folks have abandoned any notion of objective fact. Any accusation made against a politician is simply "one side", to be balanced out by the other. All Romney does is lie? Well, then, all Obama does is lie! Take that! The idea that Romney's lies have been objectively and painstakingly documented by both reporters and policy experts while Obama's "lies" consist entirely of talk-radio conspiracy-mongering doesn't even register on their radars.

I told him that was not a lie, that was an opinion he held that he changed. Now you can opine as to whether or not his changing of that opinion was politically motivated, but it certainly wasn't a lie. He had no response. I don't mind arguing with people, but I want them to at least bring some game, not just weak play.

The problem for Rmoney is that he truly is a liar. Even the GOPers know that. That's why they keep talking about "holding their noses" and voting for the charlatan snake oil salesman. The guy is not a flip flopper, or a moderate in disguise. He's a conservative, who just like a used car salesman, will say anything to get elected.

Try this: listen to what Rmoney says he will do once elected. His positions change with his audience, like some kind of chameleon.

Now: listen to the what the President says he will do. His views don't change with the wind. He is a progressive. He stands with the middle class. He is a known quantity. He is trustworthy. This is why conservatives hate him. They don't like democratic principles. Period.
