This RW furor over rape, abortion, and birth control is all about DEMOGRAPHIC ANXIETY

A lot of you probably realized that the overall zeal in the conservative movement to roll back all the sex-related progress that women have made in the past 50 years is related to conservative panic about the relative shrinking of the white population in America, but I'm just here to alert whoever may still be in the dark.

Since the Tea Party has come into power in Congress in 2010, what have they focused on? Jobs? The "deffasit"? No, it's all been about rolling back rights on women's sexuality. Tell me, what's the core political ideology of the Tea Party? Are they libertarian? Conservative? As far as I can tell, they don't care or know too much about fiscal or foreign policy; all they care about is maintaining the socio-racial order that has existed in America for the past century.

The single biggest threat to the Tea Party is demographic change, and it's a shift so massive that it's largely inevitable. However, conservatives can still at least attempt to put up a fight by attacking feminism, which they blame for white women's unwillingness to bear lots of white children, thus sustaining the GOP majority for generations to come. The likes of Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock, and Paul Ryan believe that if they can create a culture in which women, mainly WHITE women, are firmly put in their place as bearers of children, perhaps the demographic change can either be slowed or even reversed.

But won't conservative men, at least those who enjoy sex, have to make great sacrifices if the only sex they can have will result in pregnancies? LOL. Of course not! Conservative men have never been reluctant to visit prostitutes or have mistresses in order to get their jollies on. No, these restrictions are only for the women because it's their duty to maintain "the family" (aka the white race).

There's so much about Obama that drives these people mad. Firstly, he's Black, so there's that. But secondly, he's the child of a marriage between a Black man and a White woman, an interracial pairing that conservatives (especially the men) have loathed for a long time. Racist conservatives can sometimes tolerate interracial relationships when it's between a White man and a non-White woman (see Strom Thurmond and his Black mistress, or John Derbyshire and his Chinese wife), but NEVER EVER when it's between a non-White man and a White woman. To have a child of such a relationship as POTUS is a grave affront to right-wing masculinity.

Anyway, before I start rambling on too much, just wanted to clarify what the motive were behind this seemingly baffling surge in the hatred of women among conservatives. It's no coincidence that the pushback happened right after the election of the first Black (or even worse, biracial) president, and with the increasingly impossible-to-ignore effects of demographic change.

Excellent analysis of the RW "War on Women", but damn distrurbing.

wouldn't it stand to reason that they would continue to be the majority if reproduction rights are removed? They would still have kids.

No, repubs are about power. It's easy for a man to feel superior if he's ruling over a woman's body. If a woman is kept pregnant, she's always there for him since she would be less able to work and take care of herself and ALL THOSE KIDS w/o him.

But I know too many radical Cons. I am surrounded by them. And the racial angle permeates all their talking points.

What you point out so well is the (might have been) hilarious division of the Con men and Con women.
It's ALL Woman's job to prevent the racial deluge. Man gets to hump everything in sight whenever he wants.

I have my popcorn ready for the show that is just beginning as DNA ancestry tests begin to spread everywhere. It's turning out that racial purity is an idea that already died..... about 200 years ago!

Keep your eye on the fun that DNA testing will soon bring to a consrvative near you!

I read that what they do on these shows is spreading to everyday genealogy.
Think of the fun as thousands and thousands of white rednecks find out just why those necks are red (native American!).
Or just what color great grandma agatha was (OMG, brown!)

The fun is just beginning.
