Romney’s false JEEP story in Ohio

The Morning Plum: Romney’s false scare story in Ohio
By Greg Sargent

.....Romney told Ohioans that a major factory is on the verge of moving to China — but it isn’t true. Chrysler is looking to build Jeeps in China for the Chinese market, not to move American jobs there. In fairness to Romney, the news story that gave rise to this tale seems to have been sloppily written. But according to the Detroit News, all the relevant facts were in the original article. And in any case, there are no indications the Romney campaign bothered to check out its preferred story before working it into his stump speech.

In political terms, this goes directly to the heart of the argument Obama has been making about Romney to Ohioans about trust: That Romney can’t be trusted in a very fundamental way to level with them or genuinely look out for their interests, that he’ll tell them anything to win the election. The auto bailout has been central to that case. Obama has argued that not only did Romney fail to support the auto rescue at a time when Ohioans needed it; he doesn’t even have the integrity to admit it. He’ll claim he favored rescuing the auto industry in the manner Obama ultimately did in order to get elected, even though it’s false. This is more of the same....

... as soon as they finish telling us how Romney's momentum is UNSTOPPABLE! UNSTOPPABLE I TELL YOU!

Our media is embarrassing. I say that as someone who studied journalism in college. There is no journalism anymore. Not on TV. Today, our tv "news" is straight out of "Idiocracy." It doesn't even shock me anymore.

And neither do Mitt's lies. How sad is that? Talk about, "There he goes again."

... if in fact Romney was short on Chrysler. Or else he / his buddies are looking to buy in low (good to know about how his ethics were applied with the Staples issue).

Romney has been such an unabashed liar, that the fact that he just completely made something up that isn't true won't even register a blip on the radar. He has lied so brazenly, that he now has the freedom to just lie at will with no consequence, because they fact that he is a lying sack of shit is "baked into the cake."

OMG, if I had to hear one more time about the twisted Internet comment or the warped Love Canal and Love Story stuff, I would have thrown something through my television.

But, you know, it's OK when Mitt does it.
