Within a half hour of the secured area opening for spectators this morning several hundred had gathered for President Obama's campaign stop at the Carillon.



UPDATE: 11 a.m.
Emergency medical service workers waded through the crowd of hundreds that jammed the secure area at the Carillon to help one person who fainted.




UPDATE: 1:30
President Barack Obama, speaking to a crowd of 15,000 people this afternoon at the Carillon in Richmond's Byrd Park, portrayed the coming election as a choice between moving forward and stepping backward.
