(57,349 posts)Honest politicians who aren't in it for the money are few and far between. Bernie's been fighting for us for decades and he hasn't sold out to special interests.

(1,432 posts)and I trust that he is being honest when he speaks. It's as simple as that. I know that he isn't giving me a line of shit.
I don't expect that he will be able to accomplish everything he wants to. But I believe he will put us on the correct path.

(5,240 posts)He has it and Hillary doesn't anymore.
Bernie has held steadfast to his conviction and stood for what he believed in even when it wasn't popular.
He voted against the IWR and Hillary voted for it. This altered our world and set us back decades.
I still can't believe she might be rewarded for it by obtaining the Presidency.
I can't believe that I may have to vote for her. Even in Kansas where it doesn't matter.

(1,000 posts)but if I had to pick just one I'd say it's because I'm tired of being lied to all the time... constantly... by people who know I know they're lying and don't give a shit if I know that because fuck me what am I going to fucking do about it I'm just a regular person with no special political influence or pull so I can't do shit.

(1,065 posts)Realizing you're fighting a war for corporations, is depressing. I'm a veteran and it's hard and depressing. We don't need that any more, we never did. How anyone could defend selling guns to other nations, toppling nations without a plan afterwards, creating more insurgents is baffling. We create our enemies for profit and it's sad once you realize this.
polly7
(20,582 posts)because I don't believe he's a warmonger. The world cannot take even more of the same, let alone escalation with Iran, Russia, Latin America or whoever else is in the sights. Yemen is being destroyed as we speak - half its population hungry - many children starving. Millions in the ME and NA have been killed, maimed, made refugees and are living in horror - NEEDLESSLY. Whole sovereign nations destroyed - the rights of women and girls set back centuries. Sanders, imo is the best person to at least try to bring some honest diplomacy into this crisis and try to help those suffering so much.

He is not afraid to stand up to big corp and banks.
And he's a good person more honest than me, he would be a better role model in our country than fake religious people. I think it makes people squirm and feel guilty with his views on helping the poor.

(20,234 posts)Too many politicians vote for war because war = money = power = keeping themselves in office.
Too many politicians on both sides of the aisle are willing to have people killed to stay in office. It's not even collateral damage to "win a war" - it's collateral damage to keep themselves in positions of power.

(6,123 posts)...where we have all of the things Bernie is trying to implement here. It's not always perfect but it works and people have a higher standard of living than in the US. No higher education worries, no medical bill worry, no family leave worry, and no worry that we will be dragged into some bullshit war.
