Once on record as being a pro-choice social moderate, he has since positioned himself to the extreme right by declaring that he would favor more restrictive abortion policies AND repeal of Roe v. Wade. He did this during the primary season in order to appeal to the uncompromising pro-life element in his party. And it paid off for him. Now he is attempting to backtrack and he's even been able to muzzle Paul Ryan. Nevertheless, his party's platform is extreme, candidates he supports are extreme in their views and pronouncements, and he deliberately aligned himself with these people earlier this year. Unless he renounces the likes of Mourdock and withdraws his support, as leader of his party Romney can certainly be held accountable for their actions. By doing nothing more than a verbal slap on the wrist, he is actually providing tacit support for Mourdock's comments. Romnesia in this instance would have to be regarded as an end-stage political disorder.

says it all. He is wimpy, has no principles, continues to endorse this cretin and only SAYS he disagrees with his statement, nothing else. Well, if someone cannot separate themselves from someone like Mourdock, then we have to realize that Romney wants him in Congress with his radical beliefs -- all of them. That is tacit agreement with this POS!

to run saturation endorsement ads for the most extreme misogynist rape advocate imaginable AFTER the wingnut mouths off in a televised Senate candidate debate?

That's something Romney is DOING DELIBERATELY, not something somebody else said.

I can't tell Romney to denounce every revival-tent nutbar in the country.

But he made a commercial endorsing Richard Mourdock. That's what sets it apart.

Mitt Romney continues to support and endorse Richard Mourdock so Mitt must support his ideas and behavior.
