Associated Press Poll - What is the problem with women

Romney leads 47-45. What a bad start for my "nerves." And, women have warmed up to Rape-blicans.

Man, I need some good polls today. Maybe, Gallup...(ha ha).

I just do not get it. Are these women from Red State South? Even if you are from Red State, how could they take this thing from Mourdoch?

I tell you, DNC should move their web ad to TV...

Just venting......

I don't know any woman that will speak a civil word about Romney or Ryan.If that poll sounds too good to be true it probably isn't.

My neighbor lady and daugter-in-law all have daughters....The JUST WATCH FAUX NEWS..I've seen it on in their houses.....I try to talk to them but they just look at me like I am worth the dust under their shoe for voting for a black man who has "done nothing for the economy". Oh dear lord help us...

sometimes they don't support their own.....Also, they tend to fall for the man that they feel they can take care of...This isn't all women but some. Look how Hillary is lynched and Condi/Palin/etc get a free pass. Hillary isn't lynched as bad now but..... Look how Ann gets away with saying things Michelle never could. Even the first lady role is diminished because culturally we still have perceived images. Maybe some woman still want the man to take care of them but woman work hard no matter what role they play.

is the same "problem" many non-woman voters have. They don't vote their interest. What's the problem with a lot of people in these last couple elections? Bush in 04? Why? Back then there was a "why switch horses mid-stream" meme. That doesn't seem to be at work this time around, as people seem to be all too ready to switch horses. Sometime I'd like to see a very serious nonpartisan study of why people vote the way they do - one that spans several elections - as the so-called "reasons" for voting trends in a given year don't seem to remain stable across elections.

What I see this time around - Obama voters switching to Romney, I find particularly inexplicable. Hell, McCain would have been a safer bet than Romney today. Plus the GIGANTIC risk that Obama would turn the US into an African Muslim state has not panned out, so what the hey?

No way Romney is even close to Obama in support among the female population. I don't know how any female could support Romney or any Repub based on their Neanderthal attitudes on women’s issues.

I dismissed it until actually talked with one. My lesson while doing GOTV. Frustrating.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1017&pid=71444

Monica Jensen, a 55-year-old independent from Mobile, Ala., says she voted for Obama in 2008 but will shift her vote to Romney this time, largely because of the economy.

"I'm ready for a change," she said. "I want to see the economy go in a different direction."

One might think that the reporter makes up these stories. Who can believe a poll like this? Suddenly women shift alliance to Romney??? (I think it's erroneous). But until you talk with a monica jensen above, you realize these people exist. I did.

Crazy as it sounds:
1- We thought the DNC debunked the question "are you better off than you were 4 years ago?", well, Romney campaign transforms that into a simple stupid message:"the economy is bad, heading in a wrong direction, Americans are poorer, blah blah...Obama had 4 years and failed." It works!!! "KISS" (keep it simple stupid) works.

2- I think Obama's campaign did a great job of negativity on Romney, but underestimated this line of attack. It doesn't work on informed voters, but works well enough on some indecisive voters to make the race a lot closer than it should. May be just 1 or 2 %. But the race is being decided by 1 or 2%.

I talked with a woman just like this Monica Jensen. This woman doesn't care about Lehman Brothers collapse. Or trillion dollars deficit with 2 wars. All she cared was that her children, college-graduate grand children are struggled without job. She thought Obama had his chance, now it's Romney's turn.

I used this analogy: the country is like a person who was drugged and boozed excessively (Bush years) and gets very sick. Doctors have to detox the person. It takes time, the person is still sick, can't get up, but on the recovery. 4 years of Romney will be like put the patient back on drug and booze again and will kill the patient.

I don't know if it changes her vote or not. But really, there are people out there buying Romney's message at face value. And I fault Obama's campaign not effective in a message for these people.

==== edit ==
Here is the conversation I had with the woman: "4 years of Obama, in economic terms, is like 4 hours in a hospital, where the patient is on dialysis machine that cleans his blood, detoxes and put on IV to replenish fluid. Also it takes time for the medicine to work..." Voting for Romney is like someone walks in and say "my god, the guy is terrible, bed ridden, not like the way he partied and danced last night. Give him booze and drug again, he will dance and jump again!".

I would not take this poll that seriously. It is one of many national polls out recently and they all go back and forth between ties and Romney or Obama ahead a few points. It is statistically a tied race nationally. Look at state polls to give you a better idea of where we are.

I believe he had a 10 pt.lead with RV. At the time I thought that the 9 pt. difference between RV and LV was very hard to believe. Are we seeing a similar pattern with this poll?

Discrimination and oppression doesn't suddenly make one demographic smarter than others. For example, see blacks with gay rights (or at least before Obama embraced gay marriage).
