What Did Women Ever Do to Make Republicans Hate Us So Much?

In 1964, Barry Goldwater was too “extreme” for this country. In 2012, the mainstream media tells us that Mitt Romney is a “moderate.” That means his opinions and those of his political allies reflect the average view of the average Republican. So what does the “average” Republican think about women?

Judging from what GOP political candidates tell us this year, the party thinks that we are sluts dressed in short skirts who lead men on then cry rape after the seduction is over so we can get free abortions and/or child support from the state. That includes under-aged girls who are molested by their fathers. Those prepubescent Jezebels are the worst of the lot! The fact that they are still alive and in one piece after being sexually abused by an adult male proves that it was consensual! And those bleeding heart liberals want to encourage them in their lascivious ways by vaccinating them against HPV. If they catch venereal warts from their “rapist” (snicker) and get cervical cancer, it is all part of God’s plan to rid the world on one more daughter of Eve. And no woman should ever have access to birth control. If she does, she will feel free to lead even more good men into “sin”. Only the threat of divine punishment, i.e. pregnancy can make her keep her veil drawn and her knees together.

Moderate Mitt tells us that serial killers and mass murderers are the sons of unwed mothers. No wonder his party wants to slash Medicaid, the program that provides prenatal care for low income women and then pediatric care for their children. Who wants to coddle a future mass murderer/serial killer? Better to stunt the little killers in the womb. Maybe that way they will be too weak to wield an assault rifle.

What about women who do not live in poverty? What about those of us with professional jobs, good incomes and health insurance? If we believe what old Moderate Mitt tells us, there are no women qualified for these kinds of positions. If we achieve anything in life (besides giving birth to a bunch of babies), it is because some man has been generous. So, how dare we demand equal pay for equal work? There is no way that a woman’s work could ever measure up to that of a man!

And don’t get them started on old woman, whose spouses are dead and whose children have grown. Social Security and Medicare are un-American! That LBJ was some kind of freaking communist, worrying about his grandma. Nature intended women to wed, produce and rear lots of babies---and then die, so that they can serve their husbands/priests/deities in the afterlife.

Men are allowed to get old and bald and fat, but a woman’s worth is based upon her looks. Women are here to look good for their husbands. If sickness or old age robs them of their youth and beauty, then their husbands have a god given right to take another wife. The Lord hates an old, ugly woman almost as much as he hates sluts who allow themselves to be raped. Forget about men who commit stock fraud and who create Ponzi schemes. The real criminal is a woman with thick ankles.

If the views above are now "moderate", I shudder to think what the future will be like. Will they put "shrewish" wives in stocks? Make rape victims wear a big Scarlet A? Make us take pregnancy tests before we travel to states where abortion is still available on demand?

Well before men. The patriarchal culture over took the Goddess cultures long ago labeling them pagan. Men remodeled the old matriarchal religions in their own image. Men have been subjugating women ever since.
It's because we can bring forth life and they can't that they feel we must be controled by them.

After all how many babies have you seen lately born from the man's ribs?

The god is the one who lied. He also didn't get upset when the woman ate of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. She could handle the truth. He only blew a fit when the man felt left out and grabbed it away and took a bite, himself.

He then hid behind the woman and blamed her for the whole thing when the god (who had lied about the fruit) got all bent out of shape.

Was that intercourse causes procreation. Women had it figured out and kept it secret from men. Hence the fertility Pagan Temple ceremonies of the Bible.
It was part of the old Goddess cults that the Hebrews went to work wiping out so no one would ever realize we once worshiped the Mother as the icon who brings forth life.

Funny how no men have figured out the women from a rib technique.

We must fight and stand strong for women's fully unimpaired, unhampered equal rights in a world that is turning darker again. Most of all I hope for the day when there is nothing but respect for all people, all women, and that the ugliness of dominance by any faction is relegated to a distant past.

I am a man, BTW. I hold your equal rights as sacred as I do all peoples rights. I really hope I am among the majority of men, but I actually don't know.

who are intimidated by the all-powerful, mystical, threatening VAGINA! The playground where their inadequacies are exposed. Since they are unable to unravel the majesty of the Vagina, they make themselves feel better by unequal pay for equal work, diminished civil rights, and the most sought after revenge: women being prohibited from controlling their own bodies and reproduction. Real men don't act that way, thank heavens.

Why do they hate Blacks, Hispanics, the elderly, gays, children, the poor and the disabled? I will tell you why---God gave us life....it is just that simple...He gave us a brain, and the ability to say NO, and fight back. Most Republicans are white men, aren't they? And I am truthful when I ask this question, who else, hates as much, without REASON to? White men have it all, they have power, wealth, education, and the ability to move upward by all these means. They seem to be mean, emotionally crippled individuals who hate because they cannot rule over all and sundry, they want to dominate....to answer your question, they hate because they can. But not all of them hate, just 99.9% of them. But one thing I have noticed, even the white gay Republicans will throw their lot in with their side, even when they know the Right hates and dispises them, I guess it is the pull of just the thought of power, it can't be because of inclusion. That is just my two, very small cents. The real answer can only be found in the hearts and minds of the Right....no one can absolutely answer that question but Republicans and God. Thanks everyone.

Outsourcing, immigrants, private prisons, and women losing rights = the new equivalent of slave labor. Republicans want something for nothing, as all cheats do. That's how they become the rich and privileged... on the labor of lots of other people who they can extort it from.

No birth control, no access to abortion -- no career, no independence. Then women are stuck depending on them, on their terms, and working all their lives for free as it used to be. No woman can be independent or self-supporting without control of her body, which also means control of her future.

As a woman I'm past the age of this having direct relevance to me, but I think young women who would consider voting for rethugs are taking way too much for granted. They didn't fight for these rights, and they don't know what it was like without them, so they don't value them as much. What we have can be easily lost. It isn't "a given". It took a lot to get this far. A lot of young women (not here, but among "the public&quot are being very cavalier about this, and they really should not dare to be.

If there ever was a terrorist jihad then it was first implemented against women.
Once the women were conquered then it was time to go out and do war on rival tribes.
Thus Humanity consolidated power and Government was born.
Enslaving rivals and starving their children meant hoarding wealth and weapons and an easy life.
Wielding terror was the key.

Moses understood this and used it effectively and so too did those who came after him.
In fact they expanded on it as they carved out a nation for the Jewish people to call home.
4000 years later the books that Moses wrote were adopted by a council in a country which today we call Turkmenistan.
The reason for the assemblage of a religious library was to unify two war weary empires which had spent their resources
and were in danger of being overrun by barbarian hordes.

1000 years ago the splintered remains of two empires were clawing themselves back from the ashes but yet again found it necessary
to do war to consolidate power.

Today another empire is at risk of being over run and what we face is a war for the consolidation of power.
Women are the key to power.
In war,a soldier is just a potential casualty and not worth very much tactically.
The real target in war is and always has been,Mother.
Women are the key to consolidating power when war and business and religion, fail.

The Republicans are losing power and using the time honored methods to stop the bleeding out.

... but I am going to break rank a bit on the theme of women as a consolidated group of victims.

There is a sociologically documented set of behaviors among women that suggest that women do not collaborate well with other women. Rather than being genetically programmed to cooperate in the hunt, it is theorized that women's evolutionary strategic advantage was manifest in a superior ability to obtain a larger share of the fruit of the kill for her own offspring once the hunt was over .

Now of course that runs slightly counter to other examples in the world where the females hunt and the male enforces domestic order (e.g., lion pride). But if you accept the archeological evidence that the prehistoric human male was running the hunt, it follows that a female would have the role of domestic head-of-state. In fact, many tribal cultures were/are in fact matriarchal and/or matrillineal.

Anyway, with responsibility for the "politics" of resource allocation in the hunter-gatherer context, you have some vestiges of competitive pragmatism still observable in female behavior. We call it "jealous" or "catty" behavior. It involves a subconscious recognition that there is only so much "food" in the pot.

So, as the golden years set in, the scenario goes, the food in the pot is the eternal reward. And those women who are out there ready to throw their sisters under the bus of the Republican machine have one thing in mind - securing their ticket through the Pearly Gates - regardless of what their higher-order consciousness might be expected to decide rationally. (Don't jump all over me, clearly not everyone in their "golden years" thinks like this, but you'll hopefully agree that the demographics are in line somewhat with the proposition that older women are more likely to vote Republican for religious reasons). Similarly, the "uneducated" woman, who perhaps had children right out of high-school and had her ambitions foreclosed upon subconsciously reasons in the "competitive" model that handing out contraception to these Georgetown coeds is giving them an unfair advantage in the "resource scrounging" game.

Now that's not to say that there aren't "competitive" men out there, who view their male coworkers as potential threats rather than potential allies, and NOR do I personally beleive that all women think this way. And unfortunately I can't put my hands on the article that presented these findings about female behavior, but if you look around it is out there.

All species have biases. Right now a vast proportion of white men view the changing demographics as personally threatening. Many white males have seen their decent paying jobs outsourced to China (thank you, Romeny and your Rethug cohorts!), they see the rising tide of non-caucasion births and the influence of non-white immigrants as the end of America as they know it. They are beating against a tide that will drown them, but they will beat against that rising tide because they don't know what else to do. They're afraid and find themselves in an ever increasingly growing lack of power and hope, so they strike out at women, at minorities and at reason because they don't know what else to do. And, sadly, they will vote to empower those whose only goals are to further diminish their status because they desperately think - or hope - that by doing so they will enhance their own power by aligning themselves with those who have it.

28. There's always been a high degree of both racism and misogyny in this country....
Thu Oct 25, 2012, 01:15 PM
Oct 2012

I remember hearing: "She asked for it!" comments about rape victims as far back as I can remember.

The sexual revolution, the gains made by women and minorities....and of course the election of a black president....have aggravated the older, white males holding those views.

Part of it is the loss of a supposed 'superior' status. Remember, the biggest racists and sexists are usually lower class males; they're aware of their low status and need someone, anyone, to feel superior to. On another level, it may be a symptom of Alvin Toffler's Future Shock, an inability to cope with a changing world.

By the way, this is written by an old, white guy.

  • I'm so old I fart dust.
  • If I were any whiter, I'd glow in the dark,
  • and I'm really angry; but, it's at the Republicans and what they're trying to do to my country!

It's just that I'm changing and....I hope....growing as the world changes around me.

The young people coming up are much more open. They're much less likely to be prejudiced against women, minorities or gays.

31. You've committed the worst possible sin: emasculating white men
Thu Oct 25, 2012, 01:33 PM
Oct 2012

White men had it great in the first half of the 20th century. America led the world, with Europe close behind. The "dark continents" were either safely colonized or too poor to matter. (White) women knew their place and kept their white men happy and feeling great!

Then feminism had to happen. Interracial relationships also became more popular. White women so offended their white men that even a racist like John Derbyshire had to marry one of those lower-standards-having Asian women just to have a chance to procreate!

And now, all you (white) women with your abortions and birth control and interracial relationships and jobs have now led to the ultimate crisis: a decline in the white birthrate relative to other racial groups. As a result, the unquestioned dominance of white men in America may be coming to an end soon. Sure, they'll still be more powerful than any other group, but now, they'll have to bear the unfair burden of having to do things like consider the feelings of other groups for fear of great consequences.

Oh, how these men long for the days when a good old boy like George Allen could say "Macaca" a billion times and nobody would have the power to do anything to him!

White men clearly did not like Barack Obama, yet he won by a landslide anyway. And they fear that this is just a taste of things to come, and they blame (white) women for allowing it to happen.
