It would be comical if it wasn't so sustained. That some of them would check out when planes were flying from New York to Rome and continue this nonsense for days on end shows a real mental disorder.

Usually, the Pope poses for a picture with those guys at the end of their meeting. He's running off to Lesbos, so he sent a note saying "Sorrrrrrry...."

And the Pope sent a note to the conference saying he wasn't going to show up to do the usual meet/greet.

Most years, he (by HE I mean the person occupying the Papal Office of the Holy See) turns up to take a picture with the group. He's (in this case, I mean Francis) playing a "hands off" game.

That cat has been to Asia, Europe, the Americas....he lived a good long life!

A carabinieri offered me a thousand bucks for him (more or less, it was the days of lire) because he wanted to give the thing to his fiancee. I was living in an Italian hotel at the time, and I used to take the cat to the bar (no one blinked an eye--it was one of those sorts of places!).

To me, though, the cat was priceless--very much like a portable dog, actually, a really good companion, very personable and smart.

Put your hand up, he walks away...otherwise he is there for a good ear rub.

I love cats, have had a kitty in my life since about 10 years old, two of my kitties, I had for about 14 years, died in my arms...I cried for days after each one died. They were never sick...I recon they just died of old age.

Though I must admit I had a dog I loved more than I loved my mother! She (the dog) and I just melded, she was a throw away adult dog brought to our office by construction workers. I was the only one willing to take her in..my very first dog...we bonded as much as a child and mother.

I had her cremated and have her ashes.
