Sen. Bernie Sanders' (I-VT) campaign on Thursday night suspended Simone Zimmerman, the campaign's new national Jewish outreach coordinator over comments she made about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Facebook, the New York Times reported.
"She has been suspended while we investigate the matter," Sanders spokesman Michael Briggs wrote in an email to the Times.
Zimmerman was hired by the Sanders campaign on Tuesday, and the news was followed by a Wednesday Washington Free Beacon report with a screenshot of a Facebook post by Zimmerman.
"Fuck you, Bibi," Zimmerman wrote in the post, calling Netanyahu "an arrogant, deceptive, cynical, manipulative asshole."

(8,836 posts)I do not like Netanyahu but folks leading public discourse need to act adult, ever more so in time of social media and instant access.
"Arrogant, deceptive, and cynical" would be enough for most of us (me!!) but not for the campaign's new national Jewish outreach coordinator.

As a Sanders supporter, IMO the woman was a poor hire and should have been fired (and better vetted initially).
To hire a specialist in Jewish outreach is obvious. There are likely campaign specialists for most demographics, with and without specific title.

(1,511 posts)They already tried to run with this as an attack yesterday. I am sure the person understands why they got suspended. Using a word as I said that is banned by the FCC about a leader could mess up your ties with said country no matter how bad the leader is.
But I did read that they are considering dropping the ban...

But i have not found a follow up and I have not heard the F-bomb on public airwaves yet. Anyone know if they lifted the rules?

Why is the American "left" so caught up in kissing the asses of the Israeli right?
