2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI can't believe Clinton turned last night's debate into a Trump style scream-fest.
Well at least we USED to be able to look down our noses at the repukes.
Thanks Hillary.

(39,379 posts)The place was loud. And she did less yelling than Bernie. Try to come up with something original/better.

(39,379 posts)he would either wave the finger or grimace. Otoh, Hillary would very often stand with her hands folded and look at him, with no expression other than attentiveness. How many times did questioners literally have to yell at Sanders to get him to stop talking over them? Hillary did this as well, but maybe 1/3 as much.
Anyone who says her demeanor was less presidential than his wasn't looking at this with an open mind, to put it mildly.

It was disrespectful and is indicative of a person afraid to let another person talk. Very revealing tell.
The best moment of the night was trying to get her to give a simple yes or no on whether to raise the soc. sec. cap. Sanders was amazingly calm on this, and she was simply a deer in the headlights trying everything except to simply answer the question. I actually felt empathy for her in that moment because she was so unbeleivably ineffectual.

I'm not kidding.
Bernie is old school and defers, as anyone should (but often don't) to the other speaker, male or female, and waits his turn.
Moderators seemed at ease with telling Sanders to wait or stop, and he would comply.
Hillary was a bulldozer, and I think she knows she can get away with it because if anyone tries to stop her she'll cry "sexist".
She did that already with "Excuse me, I'm talking" in a previous debate.
To me, she does no good to the our efforts to make women fully equal in society when she plays a gender card to her advantage.
