What bothered me most was the smirk.

Whenever she pulled one of her pre-planted smears (ex NYDN interview interpretations) she would smirk in a way that I've only seen one other pol do - yes, that's the Smirking Chimp himself.

I didn't like him, his policies, nor his dishonest method of governing. I think a Hillary administration would be at least as bad and for exactly the same reasons. Dishonest, bad judgement, and violently churning the people of the world to keep the economic cream on the top.

Bernie 2016 - please.

Smugness personified.

Even while it was her turn, she'd stare at him then adopt that smirky smile and scan the audience with a gaze of superiority.

It's like the worst kind of behavior found in a suburban high school cafeteria.

the same way rude people do in group conversations -- roll their eyes, smirk with the others while someone they don't like is talking.

Bernie wasn't playing that game; he would just look down and laugh to himself. He was reacting to the content of what she said, not to her as a person.

Her smirks and laughter were purposeful assaults; his was pure reaction. There is a big difference.

I don't think she smirked because she felt superior per se, but merely because she was trying to assert superiority.
It's a facade -you wanna project confidence, but you're not all that confident in reality. Especially in these contexts such as debate, people tend to smirk when they feel like they're not in the position of strength. Mitt Romney smirked a lot in the debate against Obama.

7. Hillary is an aristo.
Fri Apr 15, 2016, 10:44 AM
Apr 2016

There is a reason her 'unlikeable' numbers are so high.

It is not just because of her flip-flopping and her checkered scandalous past ... it is because she always has been conceited.

Her personality exudes a sense of privilege, an aura that she really deserves to be treated as political royalty.

The vote for president is a very personal one that for most people goes beyond just issues -- we have to live with this person for four years, they come into our homes on TV, in the news, in discussions, etc.

Sometimes we elect people who have prickly personalities as president, but we usually regret it.
Hillary is more Richard Nixon, in my opinion, than Shrub (partly because G. W. Bush actually lost, but the SCOTUS made sure he got in anyway -- so we weren't fooled, we were gamed).

Sen. Sanders is polling very well on the how people like him -- he will win against Cruz or Trump.

Clinton will lose against even Cruz or Trump because she is a known unlikeable candidate -- she starts with a huge deficit since even now a lot of people just don't know that much about Cruz or Trump -- but they already know they don't like Hillary.

The Hillary Smirk has certainly become more obvious as her irritation at not being proclaimed 'Queen of the Party' by now.
Heaven help the United States it Mrs. Clinton is ever president. indeed: Bernie 2016 - please.

Then when it got to her propensity to favor regime change in the second hour, she went into Colonel Jessup mode, telling us that we need her on that wall.

... As far as Bush goes, no, the smirk is not sexist. Sexism, like racism and homophobia, is based on power. The powerful stereotype minorities and women. White straight men rarely lose power when they are defined negatively. If one called Bush a corporate whore, it's a lot different than using that expression on a woman. If one calls Bush a cracker, it's a lot different than calling a black man a n-. If one talks about Bush's smirk or a man's cackle, it's a lot different than using those expressions for a woman. Judge Hillary by her policies and her records, nothing else.

Hillary's speeches were nothing but complimentary toward the bankers. No one shells out a quarter of a million dollars to be called on the carpet and criticized.

I liken those speeches to a popular entertainer agreeing to perform at a private party hosted by a millionaire. The entertainer is paid big bucks to make the host and guests happy by playing exactly what they want snd expect to hear. No way is he going to insult the guy who's signing the check.

If the speeches weren't potentially embarrassing or politically harmful, she'd have released the transcripts by now.
