TIME POLL - OHIO - Obama ahead by +5 - Among EARLY VOTERS AND THOSE WHO WILL VOTE ON ELECTION DAY

?w=360&h=240&crop=1

"Buoyed by early voting in his favor, Barack Obama leads Mitt Romney by five points in the pivotal state of Ohio, according to a new TIME poll.

"Counting both Ohioans who say they will head to the polls on November 6, and those who have already cast a ballot, Obama holds a 49% to 44% lead over Romney in a survey taken Monday and Tuesday night.

"The poll’s margin of error is plus or minus three percentage points.

"But Obama has clearly received a boost from Ohio’s early voting period, which began on Oct. 2 and runs through November 5. Among respondents who say they have already voted, Obama holds a two-to-one lead over Romney, 60% to 30%.

When those two groups are combined, the TIME poll reveals, Obama leads by five points overall in Ohio.

I agree Missouri, Indiana, and Arizona are tall reaches, but even without them Obama gets more than twice the Electoral College votes than Mittens.

I love optimism, but don't you think that's a bit of a stretch?

but the odds are good the map will look just like that in either '16 or '20. The Thug Party is screwed and, if we can avoid a major sex scandal or some other failing of character, we will be kicking their ass for decades to come.

I'm sure the knuckledraggers will keep throwing up roadblocks to keep this from happening.

Things were starting to look too close for comfort. Ras (tied) leans a little right... SurveyUSA (O+3) tends to be a little left in their results. I didn't know where to slot Suffolk (tied)... but it was starting to look like a very narrow 1 point lead.

This will help be sleep better tonight.
