the right wing libertarian candidates or Ross Perot. It takes that first, naïve election to realize that a vote is better spent on a candidate who can win, even if they are willing to compromise with the other side. Compromise is the basis of Democracy, and why progress is so slow...no matter how much we wish it was otherwise. It often requires some political maturity to see this clearly.

They do not compromise as has been demonstrated by their eight years of obstruction against President Obama.

Your tried and true bromides are not working any more.

Don't hand them a third way olive branch. Hand them an anvil and let them sink.

to indicate my affiliation with socialist thought. Then I came head to head with the aggressive Sanders supporters, and was almost immediately turned off. Revolution is one thing, violent, close-minded mutiny is another.

Thanks for your input.

How do you think we should have compromised with the slaveholders in order to avoid a Civil War and that terrible Reconstruction
period hated by the former slave owners?

It takes political blindness to ignore the history of this nation and the role that mass movements and independent organizations have played in every major progressive change that has improved this country.

How do you propose we compromise with racists, union busters and sexists?

moves for the more important issues. But a fringe candidate will not be able to even begin to work with the other side, and would not have enough popular support to make large moves...not that one would ever be elected. (Thus the definition of 'fringe'.)

He's gotten a lot of things done, he just hasn't had his name as a sponsor or co-sponsor on most so it appears he's done less. He doesn't care about always getting credit like many in politics.
He's also not fringe, it's just we've moved so far to the Right because of that jackass Ronald Reagan that what would be considered center in the past(Eisenhower) now has shifted to the Left. You see the median shifts further right as the center when the very right becomes the normal right.
Even the Right Wingers in Europe think we're nuts when they hear our policies, they're more anti-immigrant and very nationalistic, that's where their Right wing stance comes from. Well, at least for the most part. Apparently one of Bush's people or one of our Right wing economists saw fit to go to Europe and infect them with Neo-Liberalist policies, which is where you mainly see Austerity come from.

The Monkey Business. Now, what now-famous then-unknown American Democratic politician would go on to benefit from that guy getting photographed with a girl on his lap? Not in 1988 -- 92.

Gary Hart stood up to the Nixon-Reagan-Poppy crew. Unlike too-few Democratic leaders since.

Each and every visit to this website, I witness more frantic and derisive attacks by Hi11ary supporters. This pretty much takes the cake, today.

There's another interesting Yiddish term.

Do you feel sorry for the Hi11ary supporters who seem to be ever more frantic and derisive now that Senator Sanders has won seven of the last eight contests? Like their compromised candidate, they seem to be in react mode, getting ever more desperate in their attacks.

Sad, really.
