2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumShe figures no one will research, and is counting on it... so she lies and lies and lies!
Before HRC starting touting "per capita" (see below) she was stating the below without that term in the last few months. Now her camp decided they better put that word in the statement. People generally who are listening to her will not question the percentage or the population of Vermont. Her camp realizes this. She is deceptive and a liar. Many listening to this misleading crap will believe it and that's what they are counting on. Those who do not research what she says and just believe her are those without the time or interest to research the truth. I am so sick of her dishonest behavior! She is always like this. What she says, she twists, lies and distorts. How can any one support such a dishonest person.

"Clinton has been touting this lie for months now and just yesterday again "Clintons claim that Vermont sends the most guns used in crime per capita to New York may be technically true due to the states proximity and small population, but it is also somewhat misleading. According to the ATF, in 2014, 55 traced guns found in New York were traceable to Vermont, less than 1% of the roughly 7,686 that were recovered, (though only 4,585 of those guns were traceable to a state). Most illegal guns in New York come from the south."

"In 2013 and 2014, the states where the most number of out-of-state crime
guns originated were Virginia, Pennsylvania, Florida and Georgia. The state
with the most number of guns per 100,000 people was, indeed, Vermont.
But 1 percent of crime guns whose sources were identified in 2014 originated from Vermont: 55 of 4,585.
Crime guns in New York from Vermont is a recent trend. From 2006 to 2012, Vermont was not listed as a top 15 state for crime guns in New York from Vermont, ATF data show."

(47,803 posts)There is a total lack of integrity to her carefully customized lies.....She does it repeatedly and if I was a supporter of hers I'd be ashamed and call on her to knock it off.

(28,749 posts)I guess no one figured we would research it.
But we did.
And the lie is still there.
Trust me it's frustrating, I know first hand.

(3,660 posts)If you tell enough of them, some slip by. That's her motivation. Otherwise, she is just a serial liar.

(3,160 posts)Her no longer has even a casual acquaintance with the truth. Truth is a long forgotten concept. It is the hallmark of Clintonism.

(39,451 posts)with Hillary lying about their state?
They need to support the people of Vermont first.

(2,052 posts)But it's a genius move by her over and over
The lies never hurt her. Why would she stop? Why would she release the transcripts? She doesn't have to. A large percentage of Americans still aren't paying attention to what's going on. Think otherwise? Ask some of your co-workers about some of the issues in the election. It's startling.
Why would she ever change that. The goal is to win

(4,213 posts)If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.

(2,052 posts)But the quote is apt if you apply it to American Politics.

(5,198 posts)because they get their information from questionable sources. Statistics can be easily worded to serve just about any viewpoint, which is why cross checking from many sources is best.

(474 posts)...come from Hillary Clinton's State Department! 55 guns from Vermont to New York; $27 BILLION in arms sales to the Saudis alone, greenlighted by Clinton in exchange for "donations" to the family foundation. And Qatar, and on and on. In some cases several hundred percent over any amount that had been permitted in the past. Shameful.
