Who does better in swing states? Hillary, by far.

With all the talk of Hillary only being able to win in deep south states like Ohio and Massachusetts, I decided to check who was doing better in swing states. So I googled swing states and got this article, which lists 11 key swing states
https://www.yahoo.com/news/swing-states-states-decide-2016-214642656.html?ref=gs

Of the 11...

Hillary has won 6 swing states, totalling 87 electoral votes:
Nevada (6)
Florida (29)
Virginia (13)
North Carolina (15)
Iowa (6)
Ohio (18)

Bernie has won 4 swing states, totalling 39 electoral votes.
Colorado (9)
Wisconsin (10)
Michigan (16)
New Hampshire (4)

That's 50% more state victories and twice as many electoral votes for Hillary. There is one swing state coming up, Pennsylvania, with 20 electoral votes. Hillary is ahead in polls there, but even if Bernie wins, he will still end up with less swing state victories and a lower total of electoral votes from those victories.

I ask because it will make a big difference in the GE.

The only closed ones on the list are Nevada, Florida, and Colorado, as well as PA, but that hasn't voted yet. Iowa was closed but you could change affiliation the day of, which effectively makes it open. Google said that New Hampshire was "semi-closed" whatever that means.

Given that Secretary Clinton appears able to attract only slightly over half of REGISTERED DEMOCRATS in swing state closed primaries/caucuses and less than 1 in 5 INDEPENDENTS, it appears that she would be a sitting duck for the moderate GOPer who is sure to come out of the brokered GOP convention.

Even if registered Democrats voted 100% for Secretary Clinton (a dubious proposition given how her supporters have chosen to lob personal insults (e.g., misogyny, racism, naivety, . . . need I go on?) at the near 50% of REGISTERED DEMOCRATS who are supporting Senator Sanders), her inability to attract more than 20% of independents would practically guarantee a Republican landslide and a "Say hello to Justice Sessions."

I am sure Dan Tex is eager to answer your question. Let's see what it will be.

in '16 w/ Hillary as our party's standard bearer...I think we can kiss Virginia, NC and maybe Iowa goodbye...

Michigan isn't a swing...but might be w/ Hillary, along w/ Nevada.

she has such high negatives.
