Whew! CNN forgets to discuss Hillary's racist skit this morning.

They were all over Tokengate and I was afraid they might give similar saturation coverage to her participation in a racist skit. Thank heavens we can count on the mainstream media to help Hillary negotiate her way through her self-inflicted wounds. Let's hope the Republicans don't find out about what she did since the video would make a nice anti-Hillary ad in the fall.

in New York because she delayed announcing her run for the Senate and then delayed starting her campaign so long that people grew exacerbated and wondered if she was running at all.

People hearing this joke were probably supposed to "huh?" with De Blasio's CP time, then "oh!" and laugh with Hillary's "cautious politician" New Yorker-joke explanation.

As for the other meaning, those hoping this will somehow hurt her should just...keep on hoping for another week and see what happens.

Those just wondering about it might look to black writers and posters for their reactions and then evaluate the situation. Or they might decline to waste their time. These old pros didn't get up on that stage to commit political suicide.

Last year -- after a long break from DU -- I read the discourse shortly after Sanders came onto the primary scene.

I was expecting to see the cranky old socialist nonsense. "Too far left for the Democratic Party"......That would be business as usual.

But I was absolutely appalled at all of the posts accusing him of being racially insensitive and his supporters as racist white progressives.....and all the "Sanders has a problem with..." crap.

The vehemence against Sanders and hios supporters on a racial basis was astounding. And the Clinton campaign was obviously seeding the ground for portraying her as the Champion of Minorities against Mean old Bigoted Sanders.

It made me especially angry because I have been following him for years -- and he is one of the most socially progressive peoplel in DC.

It continues to this day.

... people pointing out that Bernie's focus on "economic justice" seemed too narrow, and that he was missing the "social justice" aspect which is very important to many African Americans.

And when anyone pointed this out ... Sanders supporters on this site lost their minds. The attacks on DU's African American members is something that I won't forget.

And let me be clear ... there is a very distinct difference between Bernie, and some of his angriest supporters. To prove this, all we have to do is bring back the "Stockholm Syndrome" OPs, and the 100s of recs those received.

Of course Bernie does not suggest that African Americans are suffering from some set of mental issues, or are low information voters, because they don't support him.

He's not a racist.

But you will find plenty of his supporters pushing such narratives ... and some of them are now "very upset" about the skit. Hard to take it seriously.

In any case, no one thinks Bernie is a racist.

De Blasio drops rhymes at annual Inner Circle show with help from guest Hillary Clinton

The time, it was Mayor de Blasio giving himself a bad rap.

The city’s chief executive, with the unlikely help of pal Hillary Clinton, delved into hip-hop Saturday night at the annual Inner Circle production.

De Blasio shared the New York Hilton stage with Leslie Odom Jr., who plays Aaron Burr in the hit musical “Hamilton,” while unleashing his inner Run-BDB.
