5 Billion reasons to come clean Hillary - Where are the Goldman Transcripts

Bernie Sanders slams Hillary Clinton after N.Y., federal officials settle $5B lawsuit with Goldman Sachs over mortgage practices

The Vermont senator — accusing Goldman Sachs of “fraud” — jumped on Monday’s announcement that the banking giant will pay out $5 billion in a massive settlement of its deceptive mortgage practices.

Sanders, speaking at an Albany rally, trashed America’s “rigged economy” that favors the wealthy and powerful — and noted that Clinton gave three speeches to Goldman Sachs in recent years. But she won’t share with the public what she said at the private gatherings, Sanders stressed.

“This is the system we are living in and this is the system we have to change. Goldman Sachs is one of the major financial institutions in our country. ... What they have just acknowledged to the whole world is that their system ... is based on fraud,” he told supporters in upstate New York.

Sanders also complained that the deal — announced by the Justice Department in Washington, D.C. — spared individuals any criminal charges, proving the “corruption of our criminal justice system.”

TRANSCRIPT: Hillary Clinton meets with the Daily News Editorial Board, April 9, 2016

Daily News: Okay, your credibility has been called into question because of the Goldman Sachs speaking fees. Why did you speak with them given the sensitivities and why will you not release the transcripts? And if you will not do that, what did you tell them?

Clinton: Well, first of all, I have a record on Wall Street. I went after carried interest when I was your senator. I went to NASDAQ in late 2007 and confronted them about the packaging of risky mortgages. I even ran an ad in Iowa that year taking on the problems that this caused. So it's not like I've never said anything about the dangers and the behavior of Wall Street. And then as soon as I got into this campaign, I talked about and then put forth a plan that is the toughest, most comprehensive plan that anybody has put out.

In fact, it's public knowledge. A couple of hedge fund guys, some of whom you know, Mort, have run ads against me. They formed their own little anti-Hillary superPAC, which I think speaks volumes about their knowing that I mean what I say and I always try to follow through. So I ask people to look at my record. I was on the speech-making circuit. I talked to a whole bunch of different groups, and I have said...

Daily News: But people would like to look at your work and in terms of what you've said...

Clinton: Yeah, here's what I have said. I will release those transcripts when others in the campaign on both sides release theirs. I have been more open than anybody running. You can go and look at...I've got eight years of my tax returns on my website. I've released 30 years of tax returns. I don't hear that coming from my opponent, Sen. Sanders, or from Donald Trump. So there's a lot of information out there about me. And so when I said I will release those transcripts of those speeches when everybody else does, I have reason to believe that others have made some speeches of some interest, and so...

Daily News: Who might that be?

Clinton: Well, we'll have to wait and find out.

Hello Hillary, we don't give a damn about Republicans' speeches, we already know who churns their cream.

We Democrats want to know what YOU said to your Wallstreet friends about stuff. Stuff that concerns the wellbeing of the 99%.

We have a right to know what you really think......it's not like we don't already have our suspicions. So prove us wrong!

Which are the antithesis of democracy. They are an end run around democracy. She is lying about her support of them. She lies a lot. And she's running for President.

If she was not asking for our trust we would not be saying no.

She should be running as a Republican.

There is a vile national insurer that posts that sign in their in-house counsel's offices. And that is their plan, especially when someone is seriously injured, the insurer's insured was clearly at fault, and they can take advantage of the injured party's now dire financial health and physical health.

She reminds me a llot of them.

Discredit, Disqualify & Discard.

All those "D's" add up to a big "F" grade for her from me.

I don't want to be made a fool of. If she is going to be asking me to vote for her I want to know she is not saying one thing to me and saying something completely different to Goldman Sachs.

She needs to release those transcripts to prove that she is being straight with us. If she doesn't release them I can only assume that she is trying to hide something that she doesn't want me to find out. That's not being very trustworthy. So how could I justify giving my precious vote to her? Others have died for giving me that precious 'Right To Vote'. She's not being very 'Commander & Chief' like here.

Can a tax payer sue Clinton for release of those speeches to Goldman-Sachs? If Goldman-Sachs tax deducted those speeches as an "expense", then it would be interesting to find out if a regular taxpayer has "standing" to sue. This would be based on the "regular" taxpayer paying more in taxes or getting less in services because of the lost revenue to the government due to the $675,000 tax deduction.

it would give her a 'Romney 47%' moment.

Does anyone really believe she'll do anything other than bow and scrape to Wall Street?

It is all smoke and mirrors. Nothing will happen in terms of the 1%, however, Social Security will be privatized (a give-away to Wall Streeters), the middle class will continue to dwindle, and the poor will get shafted. Same shit, different day.
