(24,010 posts)I actually get stomach pains and nausea when I think of our political establishment--so mind-bogglingly corrupt, so smug, so powerful, so disgusting in their love of war and war profiteering, headed by the Clintons, with all the Clinton bought-and-paid for minions trotted out now, looking for more ways to stuff their pockets in another nauseatingly corrupt Clinton administration, and their little crowds of billionaires hiding behind 'white noise' machines.
Then I see these inspiring crowds of people getting together by the thousands in the hope that our democracy can be restored. Can it? Damn right it can if we pull together. Can we? We ARE! Will it be enough? I don't know! It is such an impossible task. But then, Bernie Sanders and his supporters have been doing the impossible over and over again, from the beginning of his campaign.
I think of rigged elections. God are we vulnerable! From computers stripping voter registration lists to electronic vote counting run on 'TRADE SECRET' code owned and controlled by a handful of private corporations**; from hundreds of thousands of students and minorities barred from voting by Republican voter ID laws that are right now serving Hillary Clinton and her corrupt crew, to the 'stacked' primaries, to the mindbogglingly corrupt corporate media, that helped throw an election to Bush, Cheney & Rumsfeld TWICE.
So much power stacked against the American people and our desire for a fair deal!
CLEARLY, this is only the beginning of our political revolution! But how quickly will we be able to recover during a Clinton or Republican rulership for 4 or 8 years, during which the power against the people will only escalate? I fear for our country if either thing happens--Clinton wins the GE or any Republican. I fear chaos and sporadic violent rebellion. I fear the end of our country as a place of hope and the end of the habitable life of our planet. I fear dystopia. I fear for our children and grandchildren. I fear for the human race itself.
We MUST make an effort NOW to end the oppression of the poor majority and turn our country completely around toward a sustainable future, and into the leader of that sustainable future. Our planet's habitability involves the whole world, not just our part of it. And we do NOT have much time!

**(You think it's an accident that Sanders tends to win caucuses and Clinton tends to win primaries? Look how the votes are counted! One in public view, one NOT. The ONLY thing we can about this, right now, is voter turnout. Overwhelm the machines!)
