Terra Firma @SDzzzJane Sanders on releasing tax returns. Good thing TV doesn't have smell-o-vision. #VettingBernie #VettingJane
ProChoice Sneak @word_34
Mark Halperin is hammering Jane Sanders over the Sanders tax returns. Jane's excuse is that she "can't find" the previous 8 years.

(45,319 posts)"It may be hard for your viewers to remember how difficult it was for people to talk about HIV/AIDS back in the 1980s and because of both president and Mrs. Reagan in particular Mrs. Reagan we started a national conversation, when before nobody would talk about it, nobody wanted to do anything about it, and that too is something I really appreciate with her very effective low-key advocacy. It penetrated the public conscience and people began to say, hey, we have to do something about this too." Hillary Clinton, March 2016

(3,660 posts)That is only if she stored them online. I do not store my tax returns online, and only keep copies on my desktop in my office.

This is very basic stuff here.

(135,425 posts)You can access your returns from anywhere in the world if you use Turbo Tax.
That there are windows/mac software version where you save your returns on your computer on not in the cloud?
Avalon Sparks
(2,566 posts)But maybe not. Maybe there isn't such a thing. I always save it to my desktop.
For many years Turbo tax didn't charge you unless you submitted them online.
Now I have to pay before even using the program.
Regardless.
I always print them out, I've never tried to pull up prior years with the online up.
MADem
(135,425 posts)...that you can ask the IRS for copies of past returns, and they'll SEND THEM TO YOU? If she'd done this when people first started asking--months ago--for those returns, she'd have them in hand by now.
She's out of excuses.
The IRS would mail them to your registered home/office address which would align with what she said she would do. When she got home she would address the Tax return issue.
MADem
(135,425 posts)The IRS is not stupid, and they'd mail them where ever the fuck he asked them to mail them.
Are you seriously trying to tell me, with a straight damned face, that if you moved in the last year, that the IRS would, even if you requested a return be mailed to your new address (after filling out the form with all your personal information on it) mail your return to your last year's address, because they are rigid and dumb and can't adapt to change?
All I got to say is
You will break your back bending over to make any excuse.

This is just embarrassing.

(11,996 posts)When the do release them. So why lie?
bigtree
(85,998 posts)...something contradicting Bernie's narrative.
Or, as I'm thinking is a possibility, there's something she's hiding from Bernie.

Who takes on a campaign without thoroughly vetting their own candidate? Tad got sloppy--greed can do that to you. He should have had those returns in hand before the papers were filed to run in the first place.

Get off that horse, you're breaking its back.
And anyone who would give Sanders a pass on this "because Berrrnie....." should be ashamed of themselves. They're just not serious. If Clinton ever thought of withholding "a" tax return--never mind every frigging one--you'd be having a cow.
