Tweety's criticism of the "CP Time" joke to deBlasio today.

De Blasio was on Hardball. At the end of the interview, Tweety, all smiles and giggles, said to him: "You gotta get a new joke writer! That was awful stuff last night...CP time. Awful stuff!"

So I guess it made Tweety cringe, but giggle at the same time.

And that's what racist jokes often elicit in privileged people.

And made worse by pretending "CP time" means something other than it does.

"Cautious politician time".

Please. Just apologize so we can move on.

It doesn't even matter if his family jokes about it. The point is that bullshit like "CP time" is not a part of his personal experience, and CERTAINLY is not a part of Hillary's. They have no place to "joke" about it.

The whole thing just reeks of white privilege.

Enjoy your 'righteous indignation' regarding all things Hillary.

Wouldn't expect anything less.

But I'm pretty sure you have to be a racist - to be a racist. No one on that stage is a racist.

...with denying any insensitivity here.

Won't be long before we get another "almost" apology, I'm sure.

It was a racist joke. It was particularly bad and tone deaf coming on the heels of Bill Clinton's racist rant.

Have black family members or a black actor on stage with you does not make a racist joke non-racist.
