(24,979 posts)From 2008, when Clinton was playing the other side of a racial divide with equal lack of scruple:

(CNN) - In what appear to be the New York senator's most blunt comments to date regarding a racial division in the Democratic presidential race, Hillary Clinton suggested Wednesday that "White Americans" are increasingly turning away from Barack Obamas candidacy.
"I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on," Clinton said in an interview with USA TODAY.
Clinton cited an Associated Press poll "that found how Senator Obama's support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me."
"There's a pattern emerging here," she said.
Yes, it reminds me of Trump saying how much he loves the poorly educated.
In either case, her campaign plays people for fools.

(3,017 posts)<Hillary Clinton this week defended her call to deport children from the U.S. who are fleeing violence in Central America.
Speaking at a press conference in Las Vegas on Tuesday, the former secretary of state and candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination said that deporting the children, many of whom are seeking asylum, would send a responsible message that would deter Central American families from sending their children to the United States.
Specifically with respect to children on the border, if you remember, we had an emergency, and it was very important to send a message to families in Central America: Do not let your children take this very dangerous journey, Clinton said.>
<Virtually all the unaccompanied minors who crossed into the United States from the violence- and poverty-plagued Central American countries of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras last year can make a credible claim for humanitarian relief under U.S. law, according to Jonathan Ryan, the executive director for RAICES, a Texas nonprofit that coordinates pro bono representation for immigrants.>

(5,636 posts)... leave behind diverse New York to live in a state that's 1% black and then concentrate his campaign on the white caucus states that are far easier to control than the more democratic primary states. For over 40 years, Sanders did nothing for people of color and never had to deal with them. Smart man. Too bad he voted for the 1994 crime bill.
