(45,251 posts)Just like the emails that I did not give to State after I had the server wiped contained nothing anyone should see.

(2,353 posts)It isn't my opinion. I think she just sounds her typical way; Spews a word salad to shock and awe people into forgetting what she was supposed to be talking about in the first place.

(6,007 posts)And she kept harping on "same standard" well, Bernie released his transcripts. Isn't that the standard they were talking about? Bernie released his transcript.
So she changed the subject.
And that answer explains this graph. Hillary has the LEAST trustworthiness of ALL candidates.

(10,622 posts)Especially as a way to avoid answering a question. I have never once heard her give a straight answer to a straight question, she appears to always tap dance around, play various cards, change the subject, all without giving a straight answer.
Usually she doesn't answer the actual question at all, the rare times she does she answers in vague lawyer speak that leaves so much wiggle room to change the answer to mean almost anything she wants later on.
I prefer straight talk to lawyer speak or refusal to do anything other than dance around, until no one even remembers the question, let alone notices that she never answered it.

So, let's say Bernie's tax returns come in,
(I doubt that anything serious can be found
there, but who knows)
then will she give out the transcripts?
I don't think so.

(92 posts)He should have his people call the R candidates and get their pledge to release any transcripts from paid speeches they gave, if any. Then announce that on the stage to call her out and force their release!
DemocracyDirect
(708 posts)I'm sure the RNC has the sound bites from one of her speeches all ready to go.
Scary stuff.

(50,130 posts)Really. That's a problem and I don't know why the Sanders don't just get it out of the way.

Or was it just me?

(168 posts)Can a tax payer sue Clinton for release of those speeches to Goldman-Sachs? If Goldman-Sachs tax deducted those speeches as an "expense", then it would be interesting to find out if a regular taxpayer has "standing" to sue. This would be based on the "regular" taxpayer paying more in taxes or getting less in services because of the lost revenue to the government due to the $675,000 tax deduction.

(3,017 posts)I wish they would have tried to pin her down by saying, "OK, so are you saying that when Bernie Sanders releases his last 8 years of income tax returns, you will then release the transcripts of your paid corporate speeches?" Of course she would have moved the goalposts again.
But I'm glad to see one journalist finally pound her on the issue.

(344 posts)as she has done. It was so strange almost as if she had mixed up "emails" with "transcripts". And she made it sound as if she is the one who decided to release her emails (as if she wasn't required to) and that others should have to release their emails too! Huh?

Clintons emails
Clinton repeated her acknowledgment that her use of a private email server was a mistake, along with her assertion that all of her work-related correspondence was sent using government-operated email servers, which would mean that all of those emails should be sitting in government files somewhere.
In any event, she said, all of her emails have been released.
"I think that anybody who's actually looked at this has concluded that I have now put out all of my emails," she said. "Go and ask others for their emails. Ask everybody else who's in public office. I'm the one who's done it, and I did it because I thought it was the right thing to do."
