Related: About this forumClinton takes on Sanders’ Israel comments
Here:In an interview on CNNs State of the Union, Clinton said that when your soldiers are under attack, you have to respond.
Hamas provokes Israel. They often pretend to have people in civilian garb acting as though they are civilians who are Hamas fighters, said Clinton. Its a very different undertaking for Israel to target those who are targeting them. And I think Israel has had to defend itself, has a right to defend itself.
Sanders has been criticized from some Israeli officials for his comments on Israel during an interview with the New York Daily News, which included Sanders overestimating the number of civilians who were killed in the 2014 war between Hamas and Israel. The remarks have drawn a lot of attention as the two compete for Jewish-American voters, a significant bloc of voters in New York, site of an April 19 Democratic primary.
Thank you Hillary! Thanks for standing against Sanders' demagoguery, and with the Democratic and American mainstreams!

It's time for the United States to start thinking of Iraq as a business opportunity," she said in a 2011 speech.
The quote was included in an email released by the State Department on Wednesday that specifically mentioned JPMorgan and Exxon Mobil. JPMorgan was selected by the U.S. government to run a key import-export bank in Iraq and in 2013 announced plans to expand its operations in the country. Exxon Mobil signed a deal to redevelop Iraqi oil fields. JPMorgan has collectively paid the Clintons and the Clinton Foundation at least $450,000 for speeches, and Exxon Mobil has donated over $1 million to the familys foundation...

Israel is responsible for its own blowback in the same wsy the USA is.
But Israel's answer is to murder more Palestinians and take their land.

It's strange since their leadership would rather have had Romney to enable their apartheid state.

(1,890 posts)Few lawmakers have voiced similar views, even though Sanderss position reflects a growing dissent on this issue among a new generation of Democratic voters. But this week, Kentucky Democratic Rep. John Yarmuth offered full support for Sanderss position.
In remarks to The Intercept, Yarmuth praised Sanders for his stance, and explained why he thinks the U.S. needs a more nuanced policy.
Its certainly an honest appraisal of the situation to say that any attitude which is that Israel is always right and the Palestinians are always wrong is a dangerous attitude to have. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who are running for different offices who are comfortable in feeling that way or at least saying that, or implying that, said the congressman. No, I dont think we can be constructive in that situation unless we recognize that we have to have an approach that recognizes reality. And the reality is that the Israelis have done a lot of provocative things as well as the Palestinians. Unless we find a way out of that tit-for-tat situation, its going to be hard to resolve.

Between 135 and 200 civilians were killed in Rafah, the southernmost city in the Gaza Strip in an intensive use of firepower by Israel, which lasted from August 1 to 4, 2014, according to Amnesty International report dubbed Black Friday: Carnage in Rafah.
There is overwhelming evidence that Israeli forces committed disproportionate, or otherwise indiscriminate, attacks which killed scores of civilians in their homes, on the streets and in vehicles and injured many more, says the Amnesty, which together with Forensic Architecture, a research team from Goldsmiths, University of London have presented a detailed reconstruction of the events in the city.
