Clinton Signals That She Is Ready To Dispatch With Sanders, Focus On GOP

Brooklyn, New York (CNN)Hillary Clinton, after splitting delegates with Bernie Sanders in Wyoming earlier in the day, told an audience on Saturday that her campaign is "on a path towards the nomination."

But, she said, she needs to become the nominee quickly so that she can direct all of her focus on Republicans.

Clinton did not mention Wyoming during her remarks, but her aides boasted publicly about splitting delegates with Sanders in the Cowboy State, something they did not think they would do going into the contest.

"We are on a path to the nomination, but I need to win big here in New York, because the sooner I can become the nominee, I can turn and unify the Democratic Party like I did with President Obama in 2008," Clinton said. "And the sooner we can go after the Republicans full-time."

The race between Clinton and Sanders has grown more acrimonious in the past week, with the Vermont senator saying the former secretary of state was not qualified to be president before walking back his comments.

That is very different than 'ready to dispatch.'

She lost in Wyoming and the 6 states before that. The gap is closing in NY, unlikely it will be the big win she admits that she needs.

and the media will just follow along declaring Sanders dead. The problem is he doesn't follow the plot line drawn out and media just can accept anything along the path, I mean it is hard enough they keep declaring Trump dead and he won't die, it is far too hard for them to accept another deviation. It would have been so much simpler for them if they could have just covered the march to appointment of he chosen ones - Clinton and Bush.

when every poll shows bernie crushing the repubs ans hillary either winning by a hair or losing? add in the unfavorsbles, the untrustworthiness, the people she will surely lose with her destroy bernie strategy, and the fact that she never had millenials or independents to begin with? and lets not forget a legal could hanging over her head.

the most irresponsible thing the dems could do is nominate her.

Like how she showed up 45 minutes late, didn't even mention mention Obama for 650 words, and wore black to her concession speech.

Hillary is not a uniter. She wasn't in '08 and she won't be this time either.

That is why she must lose.

She would be wise to make sure Bernie stayed in the race as long as possible. The second he's gone the GOP will begin their mission to convince the American people Hillary belongs in the big house, not the White House. It's not going to be pretty.

And people seem to shrug it off. Sec Clinton is the one individual that will unite every single republican, and a strong percentage of independents, to get to the polls and vote against her. That doesn't even begin to take into account the fact that a large chunk of the left is either unenthusiastic or flat out won't vote for her. The GOP is currently on life support this cycle and a Clinton nomination will be like CPR to their cause

she's just so orgasmically awesome: the cultists were saying Obama would dissolve the GOP by 2010 (and thing is, he probably could've by displaying their utter bankruptcy and falsehood at every turn); every election they're chanting that "Dems will WIN" and then they're so shocked that everyone picks the whole-fat Republican instead of the skim UHT; meanwhile the tend is towards losing Democrats because that just leaves you with the conservadems and eager cogs in the political machine that don't ask for anything once they've pulled the lever

if they were wrong, they don't care, because if their DINOs lose they've been used to blaming backbiting Naderite lefties even before Nader didn't do anything in FL

after 11 Governors, 13 Senators, 69 Reps, and 913 state seats, and probably one Presidency, it's damn time we stopped letting Baghdad Bob run the party

"To dispatch" is a transitive verb, taking a direct object. My dictionary gives the example, "he dispatched the animal with one blow." Is that what you meant to say? (But it can also mean to send for a purpose, e.g. to dispatch a message.) Recall, Rubio made the same mistake, using "dispell with" when he meant either "dispell" or dispense with."

Sorry to be a vocabulary fanatic, but the English language is a splendid tool, and I always regret seeing it misused.

but didn't stop to reflect further.

Like you, I cringe at erroneous usage.

But then, maybe he intended the third meaning below:

Simple Definition of dispatch

: to send (someone or something) quickly to a particular place for a particular purpose

: to defeat (a person or team) in a game, contest, etc.

: to kill (a person or animal) quickly
