If the pope could endorse a candidate, he'd pick Bernie Sanders

http://thehill.com/blogs/pundits-blog/presidential-campaign/254897-if-the-pope-could-endorse-a-candidate-hed-pick

If he could, Pope Francis would endorse Bernie Sanders for president. I don't mean to speak on behalf of the world's most recognizable religious leader, but when you compare the political philosophy of both Sanders and Francis, theres only one conclusion: Sanders best fits his view of the world.

Just the way he is, a very unusual person.

When anyone accuses him of either one, I consider the accuser either dishonest or -- as Jane Austen so nicely put it in Pride and Prejudice -- "wanting in penetration."

a divisive issue (state/religion), and I don't like it.
As a matter of fact this could really backfire, if you
think carefully about it.

Bernie is clearly not a strongly religious person, but
a politician with a conscience. That should be the
issue, not as in your gif making him out to be a
religious leader.

FAIL!!!!!

as humble and egalitarian as Bernie Sanders dressed up in such a pretentious costume is jarring. I don't think you're doing him any favor depicting him that way.

That said, I don't hold it against Pope Francis that he wears the pontifical garb because, though he is an intelligent, sensitive person, he really doesn't know any better. The Catholic church likes to boast, "Give us a child for seven years and we've got them for life." Pope Francis has never known anything else.

Hope I didn't just make a whole buncha enemies.

The media and BS supporters would be crying foul had this been Hillary. She would have been accused of pulling political stunt to woo the Catholic vote in NY. It's like a head of state trying to influence the US election. But Bernie gets a pass as usual.
