I wonder if Margaret Archer would have rejected Bernie, but the pope personally invited Bernie.

ETA: Hillary's campaign is mostly relying on a pre-internet playbook that relies upon the fact that people cannot look up the facts instantaneously rather than rely on what the media says. It is the same problem that is facing the GOP.

(146,333 posts)I have not seen anything that indicates that the Pope had anything to do with the invitation. It sounds like an internal thing from the organizers of the conference rather than a Papal request to me.
Either way, we're getting more info on the whole thing, so maybe we'll get more clarification on this, too.
