Apr 2016

Because I want a planet that's welcoming to my grandchildren.

Because even though my husband and I would be MUCH better off due to his line of work with a corporate wonk or war hawk I love my kids more than myself. We are more than willing to take that hit for their future, and yours.

Because I'm a human being that cares about other human beings instead of "I've got mine, screw you"

Because I'm tired of being lied to, tricked, bait and switched.

Because there is no way in hell I want someone in the white house that owes favors to corporations or other political figures.

Because I want someone who doesn't just put their money where their mouth is, but actually risks themselves.

Because every time I drive down the road I'm reminded just how bad our infrastructure is falling apart.

Because I stop on a regular basis to give the homeless man that begs at the intersection food or money, and think that NO ONE should have to live like that.

Because I run into people like the woman at lowes today, and strike up a conversation ... and drift to things like education and how our school system is running teachers ragged and letting our kids down.

Because my older daughter is going to be a teacher as well and I want her to take JOY in it, not worry every day if something essential will be cut.

Because my younger daughter is gay, and I don't want someone who took until 2013 or still hasn't realized to this day that SHE IS A PERSON with the same rights as everyone else.

Because I value our soldiers, and their lives should never be wasted on wars for money.

Because I truly feel with every fiber of my being that a senior citizen, or ANY citizen should never have to choose between food or medicine. Medical treatment for an illness, or keeping the lights on.

I donate to Bernie because I believe he is one of the last of a dying breed, an honest person in politics. He's imperfect, he's flawed, he can be loud.... but dammit I trust him to CARE about us. He's been putting himself forward for over 40 years.

Just look at where each of them are getting their money. Which group would you rather stand shoulder to shoulder with? The average folks who are sending $10 or $20 to Bernie? Or the corporate suits stroking checks bigger than 3 years of your pay?

If you picked the group with all the Wall Street CEOs, you might want to stop and reflect on your party affiliation... Just sayin'...
